Need suggestions for exercise....

Being totally honest here.....my exercise over the past year totally dropped to nothing....reason being I was hell bent on finishing my degree, graduating college and obtaining my RN license.  Any and all spare time went into studying day and night.  With all of that accomplished as of July 29, 09....I am ready to jump start my weight loss and I need to start exercising again.

The one good thing I can say is that I have been successful in maintaining my weight and did not gain.
So I ask what is a good plan on getting things started again???  I am far from finished and really want to reach my goal weight.  The end of this month marks my 2 year surgiversary and I need to start working my tool again.

Thanks in advance....

Missy

There is actually an exercise/fitness forum also - they probably talk exercese 24-7, check that out also when you can.

Trying to figure out how to reverse this weight gain.

I walk everyday.  Then three times a week I ride a bike for 10 miles or 30 miles.  Riding the bike has really helped me to firm up.  That even one of the doctors I used to work for asked me where the rest of me was.  The last time he had seen me was about 5 months ago.  I am just about 2 months out.

I joined Curves.  I'm going to be traveling so wherever I go, there is a Curves.  They start you out slow especially if you're not used to working out or never have before.  All of your muscle groups get worked on the different machines.  Plus it's only a 30 minute workout 3 times a week.   Good luck.

You sound like a very busy person, and getting physical isn't easy with short time frames.  Fortunately, I have my early mornings to go running. I love the feeling of a clear head the rest of the day, and it really jump starts my busy days. When I am at home, I like to do things that really don't feel like exercise, but they are! When working on the compter for a long time, I sit on an exercise ball and roll side to side (great for the love handles). When watching tv, I grab elastic bands and do whatever I feel like doing while watching tv. When I clean the house, I wear ankle weights. All these things also remind me of my successful weightloss and keep me in check with snacking. If you have favorite programs you like to watch, get up during commercials and just march in place or do some stairs. Little things mean alot!
