Toxic Trauma Drama

Thank you for your lovely support...we ARE in the same boat and what a concept that we work together to bail the water out of the boat instead of sinking and drowning because we keep blowing holes in the bottom of the boat because we are too busy shooting unkind comments at each other.
Many many blessings, Y

Thank you for posting that.   I love reading and learning from this site but whoa Nellie..the last 2 days I have noticed some hateful, means spirited posts!   I actually blocked one person because she just mean to people! (it was the post that the girl had the revision at 120 lbs)  Be kind...we all have the same goal!

 Love this post.

Everyone's journey is different.  We all have to make our own way.  Sharing information without judgment is what I would hope to find in a support forum, unless some tough love is needed because someone is truly sabotaging themselves.  I am weary of the crap and the drama, which is why I prefer to lurk, save for a thread here and there.

And my WLS twitter tweeps are pretty awesome.  Hope it stays that way.

I feel very strongly that a good support group is part of a successful journey.  I am so sad when I think of the hundreds of precious lives that drop out when we are unkind to each other.  We may actually make a difference whether someone reclaims their life or not.  No one is disposable so just go around the ones that are difficult and carry on to the important stuff.
Blessings Y

Thank YOU for the kind words. I have learned that staying ccol, bypassing the drama and not sweating the small stuff has worked well for me.  I certainly would say it is one of the secrets of a successful journey.
Many blessings, Y

Yvonne,
Thank you so much!! I am so compliant and such a rule follower. I believe in myself and I know this will work for me. I was diagnosed with diabetes 6 years ago and I hated every minute of the shots, meds, lectures, etc., you all know the routine. A fertility doctor said to me,"you are diabetic, that's 10 years off your life, the last 10 years of your life won't be worth living due to the complications you're going to have and you're almost 40". I paused and said,"so what are you saying, I have 5 good years left"? I mean really, how absurd! I have been overweight since I was 7 and I think I've had just about enough! I would love to go to a doctor and hear, "you are sick because you have a virus". I am so tired of everything being related to weight. I will make this a wonderful tool to change my life. I did this with 1/2 support and 1/2 against. For once in my life, I made a choice for me and me only and I am so thankful for this chance to save my life. I never was able to have babies and I will never understand that one but I did try hard. I will not fail at this! I just want the diabetes to stay away! Thanks again for your kind words and support!! Connie, I am sorry that you were never able to have babies.  I know you are sick of hearing about all the problems obesity causes and even though it is reported that obesity can cause infertility, you never know why you had problems. It could have been anything.  It just shows how different our lives are but yet we share a common thread of just wanting not to be obese anymore.  I chose not to have children because I felt like I wasn't mentally capable of raising a well adjusted child since I had so many low self esteem problems.  I turned all my maternal feelings towards animals.  I admit that I craved their love because it was pure and they never saw me fat.  My mom loved me so much and when she died I was at my heaviest.  She just wanted me to be happy and to love myself.  Today I am happy and I'm still working on that "loving myself" part.  I also made this choice of surgery for myself.  It was the first time something was not up for discussion and as it turns out, it was an incredible opportunity at getting that second chance in life.  I am grateful every single day and I will always remember where I was the night before surgery and I never ever want to be there again.
hugs, Y

Yvonne,
Again, thank you for understanding. I also use that excess love for my passion....special education. Perhaps God knew what he was doing when I was given no children because I love my babies so much...they are so sweet, innocent, trusting and full of love. They know nothing of hate, judgement or pettiness. My kids are medically fragile with multiple special needs. I spend a lot of my day being hypervigilant and the other laughing. There is so much joy in what I do.
I am so sorry about your Mom. I know she would be so proud of you and you most likely carry her in your heart. This presence (Mom's love), motivates you in so many ways. I am so thankful for my Mom's love. Almost every day she says, "I'm so proud of you". She always has been proud of me and that's why I am so blessed to have her support. Now, off my soapbox....thank you so very very much!!   Connie
