Protein Sampler Information (Xpost)

You've probably heard your tastes will change after surgery, so don't buy a big tub of any one protein powder. Here is a list of sites that offer protein samples at great prices. I ordered from several of these sites before surgery and I've been working my way through the samples.

The variety has made it easier to get my protein in, because I'm always excited to try the next flavor. And tastes are definitely different... a lot of people swear by the Nectar Syntrax but I can't stand them. Plus if not for the sample packs I wouldn't have discovered that early on the high protein hot chocolate was the easiest for me to get down.

You will probably have 3 protein drinks per day in the first month, so it's not unreasonable to buy quite a few of these. Definitely get the Nectars and the Chike samples because they are practically free, the Netrition pack has a great variety, and Unjury is very popular.

Thank you so much!  I just had my surgery a week ago and I'm already struggling with protein.  I have several different kinds, but they all taste pretty yucky to me.  I'm looking forward to trying the new things I ordered.

Thank you so very much for sharing this information, especially for those of us just starting our post-op journey! I tried some shakes pre-surgery and will start my protein shakes in a few days so I was getting a little nervous that the ones I selected pre would not taste good post based on what others have written.

I will definitely check these out.

All the information that the you seasoned pros share with us is so valuable and helpful- just wanted to say it is greatly appreciated!

Thanks Indie, one month out from surgery and I'm a seasoned pro!

The other thing I've noticed is some brands mix better than others. Some mix fine with a spoon and others are clumpy and need a blender. I really don't want to use a blender especially at work so it's another reason to test them out first.

THank you!

You can also add: BSNonline.net to your list.
I ordered a few sample packs that only totaled like nothing and didn't pay anything for shipping. Not sure why....but looking forward to trying them this week. I think I got a few Lean Dessert flavores and Syntrax flavors too!

I did not care for the Chike but haven't tried it in a long time. Should visit again.
I have used the vanilla in my PB protein balls and they were delish!

Right now I drink the Matrix chocolate and it is yummy. Sometimes too sweet. I may try a dark choc or something or a fudge because this is milk choc and sometimes things just taste too sweet.

Thanks again,
Lisa
