OT: Studying for NCLEX-RN

I have not been on the boards for many many months.  All of my free time has been spent preparing for final testing and clinicals.  Proud to say I passed everything and am awaiting to take the NCLEX-RN....studying like a mad person and waiting on my ATT.  I am hoping to take it in the next 3-4 weeks.

Definately needing to exercise regularly again....I just devote every ounce of free time to studying.  I really am tired of studying...but gotta stay focused and am almost at the end.  Hope everyone is doing well.  My weight fluctuates between 183-187.  Got some more to lose before I reach goal.  I get frustrated that the scale will not move below 183, but i know it is cause I am not exercising.  Depending on the food choice, my pouch can hold 6-8 oz of food.  I dump from time to time...especially if something is too high in sugar or fat.  From time to time chicken will not agree with me, no clue why.  I take my vitamins faithfully and drink plenty of fluids.  I still have to have flavored waters.  Sugar free or low sugar of course.  I deal with reactive hypoglycemia if I do not eat often enough or properly....too many carbs and my body lets me know.  It is not a pleasant feeling.

Just sharing and letting some old friends I still exist....

Took this test 4 years ago and I know EXACTLY what you are going through.

Kudos to you for keeping your weight stable during this trying and stressful time.

Don't worry you will do well.

Good luck with your State Boards!!! I know what it's like to study all the time.  I'm sure your weight will drop more once you can focus on that instead of studying!!!

Good for you for maintaining your weight during nursing school.  I gained quite a few pounds back then, cramming for exams and surviving off of sugar filled drinks and snacks.
I'll tell you what... if you made it through school, then the NCLEX should be a breeze.  I probably studied from my NCLEX books for about 1 week after finals, in between work and sleep.   I didn't stress out about it because that would only make it worse... for me anyway.  I took a vacation to Florida to relax.  I came back the night before my exam.  Wasn't the best of planning because we almost got delayed due to a huge storm.  Thank God we got in on time!!!
My school prepared us by using the new format; when i took the test 3 years ago they were just switching to the format so the tests in school sucked.... NCLEX seemed much easier.  I figured.. if i know it, I know it.   If i don't, I don't.
It took me 65 minutes and the computer shut off.  Talk about scary cuz then you wait to see... did I do that horrible that I failed or did I actually pass.   The waiting was worse than the exam itself.

GOOD LUCK!!!  You'll do fine

Congratulations!!  I remember the stress of taking the NCLEX exam.  When that computer shut off, I grabbed it and said wait I am not finished!! LOL It was actually the easiest test I took in Nursing School!!!

Congrats on the weight loss as well. I just got banded 9 days ago. I of course want it to work yesterday!

Get back to excercising to forget about the waiting on the exam date.

Big Hugs,
Leslie

Good luck with your exam!  I remember that back "in the day".  10+ years ago seems like forever but then again yesterday.  It was quite the turning point in my life so I know what you are going through.  I am sure you will do fine, take a deep breath in and out, relax, you are gonna do fine.
Hugs, Melissa
