Has anyone lost their ability to vomit after RNY?

I am almost 10mths post RNY and think I may have lost my ability to vomit. Is this unusual? There have been a couple of times where I would love to have gotten sick but can only spit and dry heave.

year and a half out and I'm still like that.
Everyone at my house had the flue a week ago.
I was in the restroom trying to get sick and couldn't get anything out.

I have never been able to throw up since RNY.

Dry food may roll up - but no vomiting - ever.

yep, i have noticed it too...this is all part of our new anatomy!

i think maybe since we only have pouches and not stomachs that there isn't anything to throw up-- unless we are UN-swallowing after a bout with the foamies or something. uch. i haven't experienced it yet but i guess it will happen soon.

I haven't been able to throw up since surgery, either! And there have been times when I REALLY wanted to. Glad to know I"m not alone!

I am almost 2 years post op and I too am not able to throw up.....dry heaves and foamies is about it.

Three years out and no vomiting or foamies. I never threw up much pre- op though.
