Can anyone tell me if they are familiar with Isopure drinks? I got it from GNC trying to prepare for my surgery.  It's a nervous wreck not knowing what to choose. There are so many protein drinks out there how do you know which is the right one. There super expensive so if you buy one that you hate then your money is down the drain.

My nutritionist recommended isopure but I have never found a flavor that I like,
Good Luck and Congrats!

i'm a vegetarian so I've been scoping for protein sources most of my life. after my RNY I bought

Whey Protein Isolate (flavorless) from GNC they offer it in two sizes and I bought the small one.  I whip about 2/3 scoop (about 20g) into my flavored yogurt and find it dissolves so that I don't even notice it except that I stay full longer....

I also almost like the Necter protein drinks, they seem to go down quicker than choc or vanilla, and I can kid myself into enjoying my OJ while getting 23g of protein into my pouch.

Best Price at Amazon and often they ship for free:

See "Mary Jo Sminkey's" review on Amazon:

for a detailed critique of her taste testing the different flavors. Personally I like the Fuzzy Navel, but just ordered the Twisted Cherry and Roadside lemonade on her recommendation tho haven't tried it yet myself.

I use the ISOPURE drinks. Primarily the grape flavor. Not too bad (at least to me) if served very cold. I also picked up the Mango. Now don't get me wrong, they don't taste like kool-aide, but when my protein is low, they aren't too bad.  I also got a bag of the unflavored Whey Protein Powder at GNC. When on puree stage post op, I would put one scoop (20 g. protein) in my ready  made sugar free Jello Chocolate Pudding cup (had to put the pudding in larger bowl of course).  I also used it in smoothies with frozen berries and low free/light Activia yogurt.

Good luck, and best wishes!

It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

I've tried the Icy Orange, Apple Melon and Grape Frost.  I had some of the orange the other day and it wasn't bad, but today, I tried to drink the rest of it and it was not good.  I'm not sure if it's because it had been opened or if I'm just over drinking such sweet drinks.  I'm only a week out and I need to get more protein in.

Thanks everyone. I know it's going to be a trial and error stage. I did buy the Whey Protein Isolate in two flavors so we will see how that works. I'm sure if i could stay on that master cleanse lemonade diet for 16 days nothing could be worse than that taste.

I went to www.bariatriceating.com and bought their protein starter sample pack for like $55.  You get at least 12 different single servings from several different brands to try.  This has been a great way for me to try out a whole bunch of different flavors and such without commiting to the brand!  So far Nectar flavors have been my favorite! Hope this helps.
