I lost over 230 lbs! Coming to terms with me. LONG!
Hey Lea!
It's always a pleasure to hear from you!! You have been an inspiration for me from the start.
I love the story about the car! There is NO end to the amount of WOWs we can have. LOL!
I appreicate you sharing all of this with me. It HAS to be mind blowing to be moving back after all that time and I DO hope that you will be able to take in all the compliments and WOWs you will get from old friends AND family too! You so deserve it.
Thanks for reminding me I am not alone-that many of us go through this. It is a WONDERFUL reminder that we can support each other through these times.
Mega Hugs!

Before I forget, I envy your haircut! I have this danged naturally curly hair. I have tried twice for a bob cut similar to yours and it just WON'T lay down! LOL I love that cut!
The wows are definitely a big part of this journey... I am nervous to hear what folks will say when they see me. I know that I've missed job opportunities and lost potential friends based solely upon my weight/appearance. I don't want to be friends with someone who wouldn't be my friend because I was too fat for their taste. But, I still wonder what some of them may think when they see me now. It isn't going to keep me home though! Get out there and LIVE LIFE girl! I go and do SO much more than I used to! My only real holdback these days is that I still am embarassed by my thighs. There used to be so much fat. Now, there is just so much flappy skin! I just bought a new swimsuit since we're moving back to the beach area. THAT was a chore! I have to find something that detracts from those God awful thighs! I bought a couple of things. First thing I bought was an actual "skirtini" suit which has a skort sort of bottom (brief inside a skirt that hangs a bit lower than they used to). That isn't too bad for exposing those things... Then, I also bought a couple of cute tankini tops and a couple pairs of lycra bike shorts that go ALL THE WAY to my knees! LOL They will be comfy and will cover it up compactly......... You get my drift?? LOL So, I won't be quite as self conscious about those ugly thighs and may just have fun at the beach without thinking about who's looking... That is HUGE!
And, as you already said, you have support! We're here for you when you don't think you can talk to someone local about your thoughts and wishes... Lay it on us! We can help!!!
Love ya!

LOL! Lea! My hair is as wild as a day is long. It's naturally curly. I actually use a straightening iron to press the life out of it until it complies! LOL!
The moment it gets damp, humid or raining-my hair gets "big"!
Oh and the swiimsuit thing sounds good! I am actually thinking about getting one of those swimsuits that are created for modesty. I know that sounds funny, but they make suits for women from culteral backgrounds that do not show their arms or legs! So these are sort of like wet suits with a skirt basically and made out of lycra!! I have much loose skin and just can't seem to get the nerve to go to the pool. But with these new suits-I JUST might try!!!
Still..I would trade the fat for the flappy skin I have today-anyday. I know you feel the same!
You are so inspiring to me, you really are! I am going to definitely stay in touch with you and maybe even try to follow those challenge threads too!!
Many hugs!

Yeah, I know those swimsuits... I even bought a pattern and the fabric to make one. BUT, that was as far as it got! That fabric is still in my closet. Maybe one of these days. But, I may get over the need for it by then too! LOL Maybe I'll make something else out of that cool green lycra!
My hair doesn't really get "big," but it does pretty much what IT wants to do as far as hair styles goes! I love my curls at times and hate them at others! My hair style is pretty much dictated by my hair's will!
Yes, I would take flappy skin over fat ANY day and would do this journey all over again to get where I am now--body dysmorphia and all! One day at a time, right???
