I was never much of a water drinker...but after having to give up my diet caffenine coke...I had to learn to like it....so I bought lots of bottle water...then I have been adding the crystal light  for flavor...lots of great flavors out there....the I decided if I was going to be drinking water all day..I should get some protein along with it...so now I add a scope of Whey protein to every bootle..I do have to remove some water..add the crystal light..shake and some times freeze it and it wonderful...make sure you shake it very well......I think you will be surprisedm how good it is...Good Luck...Hope that helps...Hugs from Bev in Michigan

I know your pain. I have been having issues with fluids since day one. I don't like soups or broths so it had to come from liquid. I finally found something to relieve my taste buds of popsicles. I might get flamed for this but its works.

Light cranberry juice. 2-4oz of juice 4-6oz of water or half and half. I know its not great to drink your calories but I would rather do that then get dehydrated. 8 oz has 10 g of sugar and 40 calories so when you water that down (my way half and half with 4 oz...its 5g sugar and 20 calories) the numbers are not substancial. Now don't make that your sole fluid intake, I do force down a full 8oz of water....must be from the kettle boiled water and ice cold to drink...to every 4 oz mixed drink to make sure I still get pure water.

Good Luck!

I had that problem - I am only now, a little past 6 months post op, able to drink plain water.
My nutritionist suggested an AMAZING product that really helped me tolerate both the taste and feeling of water - it's called TrueLemon - they are little packets with dehydrated lemon. It also comes in orange and lime flavors. It doesn't have any artificial anything in it, which is a big deal to me. It also tastes amazing! Hope that helps! (and good luck on the start of your journey!)

even before surgery I had trouble drinking water becasue of the taste.  I tried the Brita Filter system and I think that it changed the taste for me and I can drink it now ....it might work for you
