Why put NO SUGAR on a med elert bracelet?  Other than food, what sugar would they be giving you?

I think that sometimes the IV bags have a sugar/salt (glucose saline) solution in them.

But you aren't going to dump from an IV. The dumping happens when sugar rushes too fast into your intestines. IVs go into your blood stream.

Nope, but the question was how else would they give you sugar other than food. That was just the only other way I could think of. I don't know why a medic alert bracelet would specify no sugar.

I didnt know you have to wear a mediacl bracelet after gastric bypass??? would you fill me in on why?...please?? anyone?

Most of us wear them. That way if anything happens and you cannot speak for yourself, you will get the proper care without damaging anything.

My surgeon says there is absolutely no reason to wear a medical bracelet after surgery.  Everyone has different opinions on this though so you have to do what works for you.
