They are canceling my surgery.
Hi Robin,
I'm so sorry they are canceling your surgery.
SED rate is what they use to determine how much inflammation is in your body. My daughter has reumatiod arthritis and when it is bad the SED rate goes up. It could mean there is inflammation anywhere in your body.
It's better in this case to be safe than sorry.
I'll pray that you can get rescheduled very soon.

I'm sorry for being such a baby. This really threw me. I KNOW things happen for a reason I know God has this under control. I should be very happy I have a Doctor concerned enough to check everything (even if the surgeon doesn't agree). I think being anemic is part of me taking this so hard. I have felt bad for so long that I want the surgery yesterday. I want to be able to walk across a room without being exhausted.
Thank you friends for your empathy and support. ONLY a WLS patient can understand how devastating a delay like this is. I have been counting down the days every waking moment-- only WLS folk can relate.
I already have a upper Gi scheduled for Friday so maybe the delay won't be too long.
Thanks again,
Robin
I am thinking that if a surgeon talked to me like that.....I would be finding a new surgeon. One would think that he would appreciate your compliance with the GI Doc's instructions and would feel comfortable
that you would likewise be compliant with his instructions post operatively. You deserve better than to be talked to like that. I would
begin the search for a new surgeon and then report his attitude to
the Medical Society.
Good Luck.
