Hi guys, quick question for everyone.  Im finally gonna experiment with some protein powders, and i cant seem to find the Torani or Davinci syrups here, so I sent John to Starbucks when he was in Windsor, and he grabbed me 3 SF Syrups, Cinnamon, Hazelnut and Caramel, however the sucralose is like 28mg.  So, im wondering whats in these other ones.  Can I use this or should i be passing it on to my kids in something????

The others contain sucralose also (Splenda).  However, I'd bet you dollars to doughnuts the Torani and Davinci are cheaper than anything with a Starbucks label on it.  Friends don't let friends drink Starbucks.

Here they are only pennies difference in price.  I get SB's Vanilla and Caramel SF bec. they have drive-thru windows!  Otherwise, I'd have to actually go into WalMart, but I'd rather shoot myself in the foot.

I make simple syrup with Splenda, and flavor with Vanilla.  I'm looking for other extracts to make a variety of syrups.  I haven't calculated the cost of making my own yet.  I'm hoping it's much cheaper.

what do you mean you make your own syrups? how do you do that exactly?

It's very easy to make.

Use a 2:1 ratio water to splenda.

Ex:  2 c water and 1 c splenda
Bring to boil.  Boil until volume is reduced by 1/3.

Take off heat, add 4 tbsp. Vanilla extract (or flavoring of your choice)

Keep refrigerated.
Enjoy

Good for you.  I personally hate Starbucks.  They ran out all the really GOOD coffee shops in my area.  There are five Starbucks shops within walking distance of my house.  I consider this excessive.

but that has nothing to do with the fact that the syrups are a larger bottle and after shipping (which you do not pay with starbucks) it comes out cheaper... the bottles are only $6.95 each... and they are SLIGHTLY larger.

feel free to hate starbucks all you want just don't make the assumption that the cost will be higher for a bottle of syrup.

Well, back in the ancient history from whence you pulled this, the syrups were, in fact, more expensive.  I buy my syrups locally, so don't pay shipping.  Feel free to support corporate greed.  It's up to you.

I love Starbucks SF Cinnamon Dolce syrup the others not so much... I drink them everyday and have since a few weeks out. With no issues.

I prefer Torani. I think they are truer to the flavor they claim to be though I do have some Davinci they are pretty creative with new flavors Toasted Marshmallow, etc.

There are also Monin, Artista and some others.
