Is flavorless protein really flavorless??Got any advice?
There are flavored proteins and then unflavored. It's difficult to get a truly uflavored protein--many have after tastes. The best one I found is a generic whey isolate protein, 3T - 25 gr protein. It smells like a mild evaporated milk, as whey comes from dairy. It mixes well with hot foods (like it in hot oatmeal) or cold foods, like SF pudding. It mixes well, without clumping. Cost is inexpensive, $25 for 77 of the 25 gr servings, plus shipment. It's noted on my profile page. I've also tried BariCare, and they have a vanilla prepackaged that has a slight taste of vanilla bean and a custard/pudding with a mild flavor of butterscotch. The BariCare mixes with 2-4 oz of water. I mixed the pudding up the other day, and did not read the measuring cup correctly, adding 5 oz of water. It didn't set up and I realized what I did. But what I ended up with was a 5 oz shake that had the butterscotch flavor. 20 gr per packet in BariCare, with 50 times the RDA of B12. BariCare is nutrtionally designed for the new post ops with very limited abilities to eat or drink. BariCare is also noted on my blogs and profile story. DAVE

The unflavored ones all give a gritty and disgusting pasty icky quality to what you put them in. Beneprotein was the least objectionable unflavored; Genisoy was terrible... I liked the flavored ones a tiny bit better, but they are pretty sweet, so I didn't like them all that much... I made shakes with ice to help cut the flavor, and eggface's protein ice cream recipes were a lifesaver for me (theworldaccordingtoeggface.com) -- I made protein ice cream every day and got at least 25 g protein that way - mint chocolate chip and lemon were my favorites! --Sarah
We suggest that you find something that you like that you can mix the unflavored into...so that you don't taste it.
Good "covering" items are:
-- citrus and other fruit flavored beverages, such as Crystal Light/Wylers etc... Orange, Fruit Punch, Raspberry
-- Jell-O...but for this you need to follow our recipe because the Jell-O requires boiling water, and our protein is in its natural shape, and will clump if you boil it... see recipes on our website or contact me
-- sugar free instant pudding
-- you can put a little in yogurt or cottage cheese, but remember this is a dry powder and there isn't much free liquid in those items.
Does that help a little?
