I think OH should have a Vit section and I hope this post is never deleted.  Although I took notes I am sure there is more to be learned.  Thanks for posting!

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

I think this bears posting again.  I'm going to bookmark it for myself and refer back every once in a while.  My D was a "a little low" the last time I had my labs checked.  I've been wondering and researching so much that I now find it impossible to make a decision as to which one would be good to take (bioavailable and a good quality vit).  I did a search on Andrea Vitamins and this was the first post that popped up.  Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Did you get the answer you were looking for?

If not, I'd suggest vitalady's D3-5's -- 5,000 iu of dry D3.

Tell her I sent you -- I'm working for a toaster!  (Kidding.  She just told me she likes to know who's sending people her way.)

Just trying to learn as much as i can as to what vitamins i need without having to take handfuls all day long before my WLS so I'm prepaired for afterwards. I'm going to copy and paste most of these and print it off for future references. OMG I'm so confused....

Andrea, you rock. I know this post is a few years old. I hope you see this.

If you are still active and see this, I would love to know your sources. Had my bypass 6 years ago and decided it was time to review what I am doing (no point in duplicating effort if I don't have to). You verified many points that I found out on my own and did not jibe with what the surgeon and his nutritionist told me. You are so right when you say you have to do your own work and demand the right kind of service from your doctors.

You go girl.

I'm here.

I get my sourcing from all over the place.  These days, I tend to put my sourcing IN my work as people like yourself would like to know, but ask you say, this is a very old post.

You can see some of my newer stuff, when I have time, over at wlsvitagarten.com where I try to keep myself busy when I'm not randomly running over road debris in the middle of Charlotte...

Excellent. i will look asap. Right now I am trying to figure out iron. I know about taking it 2 hrs away from calcium, but I just read recently that ferrulate is the better form of iron. I was just looking at Vitron C...any direction on this?

My labs are 'perfect!' ;), but I have never thought to look at downtrends (duh) and I don't want to deal with becoming deficient. I'm more of a prevention oriented person.

Actually, you want to stay far away from anything that says "ferrous" anything in the name.  And Vitron C was found by Consumer Lab to not be very reliable in their iron amount.

Carbonyl iron.  Or heme.
