Hi Lori...this hotel is awesome.  I'm staying here all week right now, and there's a free shuttle ride to the airport, then you can take the L downtown for $2 each way.  Sounds like fun to me.  We've got some fun loaded into two days, so I'd sure try to stay for all of it if I were you.

I just booked my hotel reservations. What time do the festivites begin on the 12th and end on the 13th. They said that check in was 4pm. Am I going to miss things? Should I change to arrive on the 11th and leave after everything on the 13th? Never been to one of these.

Hi Terri,

Try asking the hotel if you can check in at 1 or 2 pm, that you are with the OH group, and you have activities starting at 2 pm.  Make sure they give you the parking discount also, if you happen to have a car. Otherwise, there's a free shuttle to the airport.  I will be here earlier in the week, so please look me up if you have any questions.

Hi Kim-

For those of us who can't afford the Intercontinental - can we still get the parking discount?

Anyone coming in for the event are going to receive the $11 rate, regardless of whether they're staying at the Intercontinental.  Besides this, if you are staying at one of the hotels that are very nearby, perhaps their free shuttle has a 3-5 mile radius that includes our event hotel. That could be a way to go; I just stayed at this hotel, and I saw a shuttle from the Renaissance Hotel dropping people at the Intercontinental for dinner at the Capital Grille.

Yes, the daily parking is $11.  That is their discounted rate. Hopefully some members will be able to share rides.

I live in South Texas but originally from the southside of Chicago near Joliet. I'm planning on visiting family while there but will be in Chicago area from the 9th to the 18th. I was told that the hotel would hold my luggage at the front des****il checkin time. I will be sure to let them know I'm with the OH group. Thanks for the info
