Is there a thread on this site for folks that are serious about losing weight?

Alienate yourself please, that's what you want to do then in a couple years come running back to the grads that are still successful and can help you......your support system is headed toward zero if you keep slamming people.

Hey Sweetie!!! I would say to tell him to have a DS but he comes across as such a judgmental ass that we don't want him.

What?  You get to say?  God complex huh?

Well I'm not familiar with the DS procedure but it sounds like permenent Alli to me.  Do you have oily anal discharges in church frequently?

Hey!  Do you get the irony of you being a judgmental ass by calling me a judgmental ass?

Please read this thread and STOP spouting false information about the DS.

People with a DS do NOT have "oily anal discharges frequently." Most of them I've seen have nice, soft "pudding" poos in the morning maybe twice a day.

Also I would suggest not starting up your own recipe website until you have done more research on the nutritional needs of all surgery types.

Thanks!

Thanks for your research on the "pudding poos".

I don't care when what how where...there is still no justification for the lard log recipe.  Ya can't do, It can't be done, the photos even makes me  gag a bit.

Why are most here in denial?  and why do they want to drag others down with them?

Go look at that recipe again.

And yet again you are wrong. DSers malabsorb approximately 80% of the fat we eat. That means only about 20% actually gets in our system. We all need a certain amount of fat just to be healthy. Using 20 grams of fat as the "healthy" amount for the day, someone with the DS would have to eat about 100 grams of fat just to get it in. Notice I said eat. Just because it goes in does not mean it is absorbed.

And just to head off the next argument, my cholesterol ratings are wonderful. My cardiologist was so impressed that he recommended the surgery to his daughter.

Now as to the oil slicks question: That is not something that only happens with the DS. People with RNY have it happen sometimes too. And while it did happen to me the first couple of months, at 2 1/2 years out that is LONG over with.

Who the heck cares what goes in the toilet bowl? Jeepers creepers! (not that YOU do)

As an RNY patient almost a year out I still get an oil slick in the bowl, still malabsorbing my fats like crazy. In fact I went low fat for a couple of months (just what I was in the mood for at the time) and was depositing boulders without oil slicks.... now that I've upped my fat again, the slicks are back, and I'm a happier camper.

I think of it like this: GOOD fat is my friend. BAD fat is everyone's enemy... cept perhaps a DSer... and if it's GOOD then it's not BAD!?!

Just thought I'd add an RNY perspective. Of course to the OP my opinion and experience is useless for another four years and one month. *giggle*

You don't seem to be getting this, so let me make this painfully clear to you.

You read a recipe that you didn't like. No one is holding a gun to your head to make it.

When you come to a public forum, you take whatever you want to take with you, and leave the rest.

But it is very bad form to slam someone who was trying to help others.

And, oh BTW, this recipe has been floating around the internet now for over a month. Little late to the party, now, aren't you?
