Is there a thread on this site for folks that are serious about losing weight?

Now that I went and saw that thread - I have to admit - I TOTALLY posted that here about a month ago.  I swore I would make the damn thing too.  I didn't.  But, it's just fcking funny.

COME TO MAMA.

The Bacon Explosion is a massive torpedo-shaped amalgamation of two pounds of bacon woven through and around two pounds of sausage. Jason Day, in foreground, and Aaron Chronister, looking on, came up with the concoction.  NYT.

OMG MEAT PORN HEAVEN.  Heart-thumping love.  Yes, I know.  I am fully aware.  Some of you "don't do fat."  I do.  Fat is my friend.

From the BBQ Addicts.  (The recipe is there.)

YOU DON'T THINK I AM GOING TO TRY IT, DO YOU?!

MU HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I most assuredly WILL be makin' this come grillin' weather. Trying to figure out where to stick some cheese in the thing, too. (*grin*)

OMG I was thinking of adding the sheese too...wrap the sausage around pepperjack cheese and the bacon around the sausage! Yummm the gooey cheese melting into the sausage.

GOOD IDEA! I'm making it this summer too.

Depending on your surgery it could be considered health food.

I tried it. Really, I made it. It wasn't so good. It just tasted like a giant pork meatloaf to me, and what's the point???

My local butcher had these a couple weeks ago -- and of course, as a DSer, I had to get one.  It was just OK.  Not worth buying another.  Certainly not worth the trouble of making one.

Do you honestly think that we would be going through all of this and having doctors alter our bodies if we were not serious about losing weight???

Well....after reading some of the posts...I would have to answer YES.

I sounds like a lot of folks think this is magic or something and I don't want to be involved.

Now...can you steer me to a thread or forum where folks are serious about losing weight and will do the work.

No pity parties please.

It looks like you are new also.  Don't you want to learn for those with success rather than those that are in the grace period and are eating high fat foods with no excercise or head rearrangement?

Isn't it fat that we are trying to lose?  If so, then why would I just cut out carbs and still graze like a hog?

Thanks.

Perhaps the OP had a DS? They only absorb a small amt of fat consumed so in "moderation" this recipe wouldn't be *that* bad. :)

We all know this surgery is a tool. It is not magic and it takes a lot of effort and changing.
