Is there a thread on this site for folks that are serious about losing weight?

I think maybe you had it right the first time. One can continue to mow down after surgery...they will learn the tricks...if that is what they want.
Let's have some balance...K?
Did you DS Doctor tell you it was OK to go out and eat Lard Rolls?
Did they not tell you about Nutrition, Excercise and Head Work?
I'm looking to eat normal and be happy

I'm not looking to just lose weight and stay emotionally ill. K? .....K.

No he didn't because I didn't have the DS, might be a good idea before you make a point to someone like this that you look to see what surgery type they had. Do I know enough about the DS to understand they malabsorp fat and large amounts of it YES. So will the "lard roll" hurt them, hell no; will it hurt me, hell no, if I eat it in moderation.
Did they not tell you about Nutrition, Excercise and Head Work?
Yes, Yes, Yes; so what is your point?
I'm not looking to just lose weight and stay emotionally ill. K?
"emotionally ill" eh? I don't believe I'm emotionally ill, do I have some days that I struggle with food, absolutely then there are easy days that I'm grateful for. Do I understand I have an addiction to food, yes I do; do I think it's "cured" no I don't but I will continue to fight tooth and nail to be successful with slipups and all.
It is wise to read, understand and not feel you have the "perfect" thoughts because I'd venture to say that it won't be all peaches and cream once you have surgery. I do wish you the best though, seriously I do; just be realistic.
Again I believe it's all about balance. Just because something works for me doesn't mean it'll work for you. Just because something works for you doesn't mean it will work for me.
So I'll continue to do what works for me......while you find what works for you. I don't believe slamming Cowboy is necessary because like I said before.......it works for him.
Good Luck!

Regarding the duodundinal switcherroony...I went to the web site and have a couple questions? If you are going to put up with oily crapy anal discharges with foul smelling oders in church....why wouldn't you just have the surgeon run a tube from your mouth right out your a ss? That why you can not change one damn thing about yourself, continue to mow down like a hog and continue to be mean nasty person with low self esteem who posts before they read everything. You probably do that in person too? Ya?
Anyway from the douodendumal web site about eating: Note: Not one thing about gettin' your fill on Lard Rolls!!!

So? are you done yet missy?
"Common sources of protein are lean meats, poultry, fish, eggs, cheeses, yogurt, legumes and nuts. As tempting as it is to eat that salad or potato, it is vital that you eat your protein first, then if you’ve any room left, eat the carbohydrates.
Protein is also available in the form of liquid concentrates, powders and bars. These can be found at most health food stores, like GNC. These items are a terrific way to boost your protein intake, and the liquids, and powders made into smoothies, may be easier for you to digest
As someone who has had the "duoddundinal switcherroony" I know it is necessary to eat higher fat foods because we need them to absorb the fat soluble vitamins ADEK... Go look it up. I'm not gonna explain it any more than that for you.
As a DSer I do eat bacon, sausage, ham, chicken skin, mayo, fried eggs, butter, the fat off of the edge of my steak, every day, yes, I said I eat this stuff everyday. And yes, I would eat that "lard roll"' that has you all in a frenzy and still, maintain my 200 lb weight loss.
