I've rediscovered McDonalds...On my terms...

WARNING!!  Kids, do not try this at home!!  I'm starting to go back to McDonalds.  No, it's not like before WLS.  It's on my terms...let me explain.  Some of things I will get there...Coffee.  I'll get one of their regular coffees and sweeten it to my taste...mostly Splenda and Equal, with a little sugar and half and half.  I only drink about 4oz cause my pouch is a weakling...I will save the cup and reheat the rest the next day.  A cheeseburger...I will use a few napkins and blot out the grease.  I will then add my own spinach leaves and tomatoes.  I ususally will nibble on it for a couple of days.  A grilled chicken bacon ranch salad...I will take the salad and add my own spinach leaves, tomatoes, bell peppers, carrots, mushrooms, and some extra cheese.  No, the dressing and the bacon is not good...but when you add the other stuff it works for me...it usually last a few days too.  Those thinking about going this route really should wait till you're near your goal.  But for me...I'm enjoying these items.  Brian  PS Notice...no Big Macs, french fries, or soft drinks...

I can't quite imagine eating a cheeseburger for a few days?  How far out are you?  I didn't notice when I started this reply.  I have been known to go to McDonald's and get a Happy Meal with a bottled water and the apple dippers, I lose the ketchup and mustard and add Big Mac sauce and then lose one half the bun and the rest of the over hang bun.  Its pretty good, I can eat the burger in one sitting and usually the apples also.  Last week my son went there and I got a grilled chicken snack wrap, it wasn't bad either.  I love the grilled chicken snack wraps from Dairy Queen, finally something I can eat from there that isn't fried.  I don't think any place is off limits unless they truly have nothing that isn't fried and greasy.  I hated that stuff before surgery also.

Once in a while I'll get a breakfast sandwich from McDonald's and just toss half the muffin or biscuit. I still can't eat it all, but they ARE good! I've gotten a cheeseburger and tossed half the bun and folded the rest in half...it's okay, but not really that good. Wendy's is better, but there's a lot more meat there and I can't eat all that, either! If I'm gonna do fast food for lunch, a mini sub from Subway usually works pretty well, without all the bread, of course.

I can already eat a breakfast sandwich but like you I take the top muffin off and throw it away.  Sometimes I think I can eat to much and that really worries me.

Now that I'm at goal I will occasionaly have one (or two) of the breakfast burritos.  I think those are a pretty good choice!

Oh, I love the breakfast burritos! I pull off some of the extra, hanging-off tortilla (why the heck are they so darn big and floppy??) and enjoy the rest. Surprisingly easy to eat while I drive!

I have to ask you how you calculated your bmi in your ticker.....at 271lbs you'd have to be 7'4" tall to have a bmi of 24.6!  I am on the wee side and I guess i've always envyed tall people as they can carry some extra pounds, i on the other hand look like a roundling no matter what i do! ANDI

Andi, it looks like her ticker is calculating pounds LOST, not how much she will weigh at goal.
