Help with tastier ways for Protein!

I am currently 16 days post RNY and I can not tolerate the protein powders!  Is there an easier, tasty way to get more protein in my "Full Liquid Diet?"  I have another week of this phase then I'll be on to pureed foods for 2 weeks then soft foods for one week.  And how do you survive eating like this and working????  I have to go back to work Monday before they give my job away.  I haven't been there long enough to qualify for FMLA so I'm on a Medical Leave of Absense, which doesn't guarantee they can hold my job forever.  I'd love to stay home until I'm 6 weeks post-op, but that isn't a reality.  I don't seem to have enough energy right now to make the walk to the train just to get to work.  While at home, I eat/drink every 2 hours since I can only consume 4 oz at a time before feeling full.  Any suggestions?

easy I think its called protenex??? its a protein syrup your wls doctor can give you...but its NASTY tasting...I took it in the beginning to get my protein in...just have to cringe and drink it as fast as you can then its done...least you get your protein in.  Unfortunatly mixing it doesnt help abit. just gives you more to drink. I feel for you... wish I knew of something good to tell you....one more week, you can make it! Good-Luck!

I've been mixing a scoop of  whey protein powder with silk light soy milk. I've used both chocolate and vanilla protein and milk. I put the soy milk in a water bottle, then add a scoop of powder and shake hard to mix well. It blends perfectly. It's rich, but tastes pretty good. I tried adding it to coffee and it clumps disgustingly, so this morning I added sugar free carnation instant breakfast to a cup of decaf coffee. It  went down, but as good as the usual creamers I used in the past.

I can't stand the protein powders either except for ONE.  I got the Nectar Fuzzy Navel.  One thing I learned is that if you drink out of a cup that is opened up, you smell the whey which turns your stomach and makes you taste that "off" taste.  I drink my protein out of an insulated coffee mug with a small hole in the lid for sipping.  That way the smell doesn't hit me in the face.  I also add a little powder drink mix (Crystal Light Early Sunrise Orange) to it and it gives it the taste of Sunny D orange drink.  I love it.  I drink it 4 times a day.  I'm 3-1/2 weeks out and haven't tired of it yet.  That's the only one I can stomach.  I know your pain.  Just remember when you get to the mush foods you still have to drink the protein because you can't possibly get in 80 to 100 grams of protein in just the food.  Good luck!!!!!!

I used a protien called profect. It is a small amount of flavored liquid, 2.7 ounces. It goes down in one or 2 swallows and has 25 grams of whey protien. It is not cheap, I was able to buy 200 on clearance as they were going out of date. www.profect.com. There is another one www.unjury.com they have a chicken broth and an unflavored one!!

Have you tried Atkins, or  what about CIB (sugar free with skim milk)  I know some folks become lactose intollerant but I am fine with the milk,  Hang in there!

I use the protidiet hot cocoa from nashua nutrition, it is pricey but SOOO good. With 12 oz of the hot cocoa you get 30 gm protein, 180 calories and 4 sugars...it really is very good.

just yesterday I picked up some protein water from GNC - Cytosport Protein.  Tastes like a sweet sports drink (not a hint of protein powder/milky taste!).  Zero carbs/surgar, 160 cals, 40g of protein!  I drink it throughout the day with a little water to dilute it.  Watermelon, tangerine, and tropical (with a good flavor of coconut).  Yum!!
