Falling to peices
I lost a ton of hair from about the third month to the sixth month. I mean it was coming out in handfuls, and I saw it all over the place. I looked like I had radiation poisoning. But my hair has always been thick, and the only one *****ally noticed was my stylist.
Then suddenly, it just stopped falling out. The texture hasn't changed. Aging and graying have caused more of a change than anything (and that started before surgery.)
Please, be happy that the surgery is helping you be healthy and happier with your body. This hopefully is temporary, but even if it isn't, its a small price to pay for the many benefits of WLS.

I would guess that in 5 months your hair will already be growing back... plus, while some people do get thin spots that are noticeable, I've never heard of anyone going all the way bald and most people don't even lose enough that other people notice. WE notice of course and maybe our hairdressers, but not the rest of the world.
So RELAX. Besides, there really isn't much you can do about it besides make sure you haven't got any nutritional deficiencies.

I hear you! My surgery was a couple of weeks before yours and my hair started to fall out in huge clumps about 2 weeks ago. I've been taking biotin since about a month out and I started using nioxin hair products a couple of months ago - both as preventative measures. Oh well, so much for the notion of prevention. It is going to happen. I cut several inches off last week (ouch!) but surprisingly it feels much healthier and seems to be falling out a less massively - probably less stress from brushing and washing and getting tangled. My hairdresser recommends not using a comb (I have curly frizzy hair) and recommended a very open plastic brush. Even with that, I try to brush as little as possible. Also, she recommended not washing every day. No solutions and no magic, I am sure but I remain hopeful that the little things will help.
Congrats on your upcoming wedding.
