How did it feel not to fear your Christmas gifts?

I hope this finds everyone had an awesome day

How many Christmas's through the years did you DREAD opening that present only to find cothes you KNEW were not going to fit.  The thought of going to the bedroom and trying it on only to find it wouldn't come up past your knees and or over your head  No way are we going to tell everyone we are a size 4x instead of XL

Well, was this Christmas different?  Did you find not only they fit, but perhaps were to big?  Did you find you are almost there and have that puppy hanging up where you can see it daily

Oh the wonders of WLS

Take care,
Kathy

LOL, yep, for some reason, my mom cannot grasp that I'm wearing XL and the occasional L now - everything she got for me was at least a 2x!  When I tried on a 3x sweater over my clothes and had lots of room to spare, I think maybe she got it, finally.  But yes, it sure beats last year, when a 4x item was a little too snug - humiliation, holiday style!  And I'm now wearing my sister's beautiful leather coat from high school!  Yeah, I love my RNY!

I totally know what you are talking about!! I used to get gifts and my mom insisted that I try them on and of course they did not fit and she would say "Well I thought THAT would fit". I so hated that. If only she could see me now, she passed away 18 years ago and I miss her so much.

On a different note my SIL who I have always been bigger than but now the tables are reversed. She comes to my house a few weeks ago and we go out and she wants to borrow a blouse because she did not being a nice one well of course all of mine are size S now and she now wears a 3x???  I just look at her and say I really don't think I have anything. We had to go shopping to buy her something. Amazing!!

Oh this post made my morning! Wasn't it AMAZING and so much FUN?! I got a work out outfit from my inlaws and it was an xl instead of my usual 3x and it was TOO BIG! I am still dying over this. Thankfully everyone had the sense to give me gift cards and cash to buy new clothes which was so nice. I had the best day just enjoying everything and everyone and for once posing for the pics and not worrying about ruining them. What a joyous time! Thanks for reminding us of our blessings! More joy to come in 2009!

MY GIFTS WERE GREAT! BUT THE BEST THING WAS MY MOTHER-IN-LAW SAYING " I GOT YOU A GIFT CARD BECAUSE YOU LOOK SO GOOD I COULD NOT IMAGINE TRYING TO GUESS YOUR SIZE". MY DH GOT ME A BEAUTIFUL DEMIM OUTFIT, JACKET 18/PANTS 16 AND IT FIT. I WAS A 26 LAST CHRISTMAS. I DON'T KNOW HOW HE FIGURED IT OUT BUT IT FIT PERFECTLY.

IT WAS SO EXCITING !

CAN'T WAIT UNTIL MY BIRTHDAY, WHAT SIZE WILL I BE THEN?

Actually I still haven't quite grasped it yet - so I was scared. Mom bought me my yearly christmas jammies in a size medium. I was sure they wouldn't fit.. .buuuuuut they're just right lol

I checked em twice after I had them on to see if they were larges and i read wrong..

Yeah, it was quite strange.  I had 20 years of clothes gifted me from Christmases past stored in closets which I'd never worn, but kept because "I might lose enough weight to eventually fit into them".

Well, not only did I donate all of these to charity this past fall (because they're all too big now), but my sister gave me an Izod Rugby shirt in size M, which fits perfectly.  Size M (medium)?!?!?  Just a year ago, I was wearing 3X and 4X shirts.  I'm still pinching myself!

People gave up on buying me clothes long ago.....they NEVER fit.  So even though I'm a size 10/medium now (yipppeeee), no clothes!  But that's okay, my DH gave me a gift card to Lucky Brand store where he and I saw a REALLY CUTE dress.  He was still stumped about what size, so he gave me the card so I could get it.  The only reason I didn't dash out today was because I wasn't in the mood for crowds.

Also when I was out Christmas shopping, I bought another dress for myself.  Guess what folks.....size SMALL.  I don't think I've *ever* worn a size small anything.  Woweee!

So funny and so true.  After my WLS, I started tapping into all of those prior "too small" xmas gifts.  Now they're all way too BIG for me, but I finally did get to wear all of them at some point along the way.
