I would be interested in knowing what SF Chocolate Sin is?

Chocolate Sin (Delight)

1 cup plain flour (wonder if you could substitute almond flour?)

1 stick butter

1/2 cup chopped pecans

Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Take out and let cool

Mix together 1 8 oz low fat cream cheese, sugar free cool whip, and 1/2 cup Splenda

After crust has cooled, spread cream cheese mixture on top.
Mix large box of sugar free sugar free chocolate pudding, pour that on top of cream cheese mixture.  Top with cool whip and ENJOY!

For my first Tgiving I pretty much ate a taste of everything... I did insist on a steamed veggie dish (I did zuc/squash) so I could have something healthy... I did put mainly protein on my plate (turkey) a little gravy and a spoon of mashed taters, spoon of stuffing, big serving of the veggies, a piece of roll... later I did have some pumpkin pie. I dont do the no sugar added or SF desserts because its not pretty... just stick to a little of the regular version and avoid the crust.
This year I am making macaroni and cheese (low carb whole wheat pasta 2% cheese), a waldorf salad (leaf lettuce, spinach, walnuts, grapes, green apples, 2% sharp white cheddar w/FF balsamic vinagrette)... Ill eat a big salad first (I am fine getting my protein in!) and then plate myself with a good helping of turkey and a little bit of the mac, taters, stuffing. Ill do the same w/dessert (taste of this, taste of that). I go home for the holidays and always bring my workout gear... I try and workout each day to offset the additional holiday eating. I try and find a good balance.. I find a little taste of my old favorites does me and I dont have to go crazy! I will also eat a protein packed bfast in the morning (spinach and egg omlete, turkey bacon).

I don't know what all I will eat, but I am preparing turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed sweet potatoes (w/ a little bit of splenda brown sugar blend, cinnamon, a squirt of SF pancake syrup, and a little lite butter), and broccoli w/ cheese sauce for my family. There is really nothing that I can't sample in small amounts if I want to, but mostly I am looking foward to the turkey and a little gravy. For dessert, we are going to have a pumpkin pie for the kids (they love it, but hubby and i don't so much) and I think I am going to attempt  to make a no sugar added apple crisp for hubby and I.

I am not making rolls. Breads are my downfall, but I would have made them for my family. Hubby said they don't need it, though. Ok, fine by me! ;)

First, and most important, protein first!  Your listed choices sound great!

Second, if you are going somewhere that you're not sure what will be offered, call ahead and ask OR take along a dish to share that you can eat.

Have you tried gravy again?  If not, do it at home in a controlled setting.  I can eat things now that made me sick as the proverbial dog in the early months postop.

Stuffing...  Eat a bite and satisfy those tastebuds.  But, AFTER your protein!!  LOL  It is just like that cheesecake...  You can eat it.  Just moderate how much you eat!

100 pounds in 6 months is great!  You are well on your way to your goal!

I think you'll find that these holiday get togethers change a bit for you now.  It will be less about the food and more about who is there and what the chatter is...family gossip, who's up to what, etc.  You'll spend more time chatting and catching up and less time eating.  It will be a SOCIAL gathering and less of a planned eating event!
Hugs!

I had my surgery three weeks ago and i started soft foods yesterday! Unlike some WLS post oppers i'm SUPER excited!!! What a great way to ring in the soft phase other than eating some turkey with a little gracy, green bean casserole and yams!

I'm grateful that i'm going to be able to enjoy thanksgiving dinner with my family. Obviously, nowhere near the extent of how I USED to enjoy...with plates of food and more food...but i think i'll be much more grateful for my thanksgiving dinner this year...not to mention i'm sure i'll savor my meal so much more than before.

My advise comes in 2 parts:

1.  Go in to Thanksgiving with a plan (sounds like you already have your plan)

2.  Just enjoy being with loved ones.  Truly give THANKS for the people you have in your life.

That has really been my attitude since surgery.  The world revolves around food, and I am trying to revolve my world around something besides food.  I have 2 children in college and they are home for the week - I couldn't be happier! ! !  And, I get to see some of my family I haven't seen in awhile.    Life is pretty great!

If I lived on the moon, I would only weigh 24.4 pounds.
