Problems after eating jalapeno poppers?
Anybody have an awful reaction to jalapeno peppers? I ate some a few nights ago and felt awful. I had terrible diarhhea, burning and stomach discomfort. It's been six days, and it's getting slightly better, but I still have some symptoms. (I had a bypass over a year ago and this is the first time I had such a terrible reaction). Anybody have a similar experience or know why I may have reacted this way? Thanks for any feedback! P.S. I already called the doc's office and they said to take immodium AD and prevacid and wait a few more days.
i know certain spicy, like jalapenos and onion and anything that is too spicy, my stomach doesnt like. but i dont eat that much of them, because i have stomach discomfort really fast so i stop and i have just been avoiding them (most of the time). i havent had the diahhea or burning, so i hope you get better.
Did you really eat that I smell that and my stomach give me problems. To me that like me eating sweets. Once I do it once I never so it twice. That's something you don't need to eat with a small pouch jalapeno peppers.
Hope you feel better soon the burning in the stomach is no fun.

Thanks for the feedback. Until this incident I've had only slight reactions when I've eaten too many sweets or fat, but nothing like his past week. What are some other foods you avoid? I think mine would be ice cream and anything that has too much sugar or fat (things I loved to eat before surgery that were not good for me). I have eaten lightly fried foods with no problems. I'm just wondering what else I should make sure to avoid because I surely don't ever want to go through this experience again. Dry meat tends to get stuck so I avoid that too.
Jalapeno poppers (from restaurant ) are fried- so the fat and grease would definitely make you dump. ditto for my old favorites onion rings. however, I can have a few tortilla chips and salsa and not get sick. I do limit it to a few chips though, not the whole bowl of chips like I would have eaten before surgery. Peppers would be too hot on your little pouch-- I'd go easy on anything that spicy.
