Yeast infection under breasts

Hi
I am having my gastric bypass surgery in December, so I have 2 months to fix this problem.

I have had a yeast infection under my breasts for the last 6 months or so. Mostly it is bad, sometimes better but not for long.

I was told by my pharmacist that the dr will probably not operate while I have this infection.

I am at my wits end with it. I have stopped all foods with yeast. Cut out all sugar and fruits. I have used every over the counter med I could find. My dr game me nystatin powder prescription strength and an oral med.

NOTHING has worked!

I also just started type 2 diabetes this summer. I read online that this exerbates this problem.  All my dr says is sit under a sun lamp. Right, thats easy. Not that I have one.

Tonite I started this plan: I took 2 clean washcloths liberally coated the one quarter with Desenex antifungal powder and the nystatin powder. I put them folded over under my breasts and am using my bra to hold it on.

Does anyone have any other suggestions for me?

I too used to get those ugly red infections under my breasts and apron.  I used good old corn starch.  Don't get the powder that contains cornstarch, I used the argo brand corn starch.  It was gone within a couple of days,

good luck,

Hi
I tried the baby powder with corn starch and it got so much worse!
I did not try regular corn starch.
I really thought that it would make it worse by feeding it, but maybe I was wrong.
Thanks for the help!

i agree, use pure cornstarch till it is cleared up. then use a SOLID antiperspirant under your breasts to keep it from coming back.

OTC Lamisil is excellent for yeast infections under the breasts, panni, anywhere.  It will also help it you can wear a cotton sports bra, or as you have been doing, keep clean washcloths under your breasts.  Lamisil will most definitely kill the yeast.  From them on I would use Masengil powder & try & keep the breasts from touching directly on your skin.  The skin on skin contact gives the yeast infection a moist place to breed.  Good Luck.

I do have lamisil and it didn't seem to help. Maybe it was just too moist?

I get these under my breasts and apron also.  I always have.  I tried all the powders but they don't work for me.  I bought OTC yeast cream that you are suppose to deposit vaginally.  I found one that you fill your own syringes and I just use the cream.  I use my hairdryer after my shower to get everything REALLY dry and then I put that cream on.  I've had great luck with it.
I always make sure that I have the cream that is for INSIDE not outside, but I put it outside.

I have a friend that is a big man and he gets them.  He uses BLUE STAR OINTMENT.  I will tell you now it burns like fire...but it works for him.  He leaves it on for a while...a few hours and then he wipes it all off with a clean cloth...making sure it is dry.  He claims it heals them.

I'm not sure of the medical significance of this, but I have had problems with rashes under my breast and any other place (dunlap belly) that gets red and irritated due to skin touching skin.   I just put my deoderant/anti-perspirant on these locations.  Just like I would under my arms.  It keeps the rashes at bay!  I guess you can try it.  As soon as I see redness or if I know I am going to be getting warm I do this to prevent or to get rid of the rash.
