I also had one about 6 weeks out.  I was already eating salsa so I thought it was okay.  It would have been okay, except for the jalapeno or some very hot pepper that accidently got put in my food.  I threw up about 30 minutes after eating it.  I have had similar food since with no problems.

I'm ten months out and just had my first one.  I could get through nearly half of it.  I love leftovers now!  I think it would have been hard on me at six weeks out . . . rice did not sit well with me -- and I can still only eat it in quite small quantities . . . and chicken didn't sit well either . . .

I'm 10 weeks out and I had one last Friday, sans the rice.  I had the black beans, chicken, cheese, salsa, sour cream & guac - it was Divine!!!  Next time I think I'll get the sour cream and guac on the side so it is better for reheating - because clearly there was a lot of leftovers!  Enjoy.

I usually get the veggie bowl.  It has fajita veggies in it, but no meat.  As long as you eat the beans, you'll be good on protein.  I got it without the rice.  Mmmm, it was so good.  Now I'm craving one...

i miss Chipotle.  i live where there isn't any.  i don't know it is WLS friendly, but if i had one i would be there and my hubby would eat the rest of mine.  remember even if it isn't that healthy, you are not going to eat enough to be that bad for you.

I eat chipotle occassionally. You do have to watch the  calories. The bowls (without rice) are not too bad and they are really moist for those who are earlier out. It is definantly better than some other fast food type things. I would say not to make it too much of a habit because later you may be able to eat the entire bowl and its a LOT of calories for the whole thing.

I found this info re nutrition:

First of all, says CSPI, fresh Mex-restaurants offer a lot of things fast food restaurants don't. Fresh veggies, grilled seafood and chicken, salsas, and beans abound. It's certainly possible to get a healthful meal relatively low in saturated fat and high in dietary fiber. But some menu items can easily top 1,000 calories--and just about everything has too much salt. That's more calories than the vast majority of sandwiches or fast-food burgers, according to CSPI.

"Fresh Mex chains cultivate an aura of healthfulness, and sometimes it's deserved," said CSPI executive director Michael F. Jacobson. "But because Chipotle doesn't reveal calories or other nutrition information, most people wouldn't have a clue that a Vegetarian Burrito is the equivalent of an overstuffed corned beef sandwich--plus 350 calories. Chipotle's Carnitas Burrito is like an artillery shell filled with a day's worth of saturated fat and sodium."

Among CSPI's findings:

  • Chipotle's Chicken Burrito (with black beans, rice, cheese, and salsa) weighs in at nearly 1,000 calories and 12 grams of saturated fat.
  • Chipotle's Vegetarian Burrito (with black beans, rice, cheese, guacamole, and salsa) weighs over a pound and provides 1,120 calories and three-quarters of a day's worth of saturated fat (14 grams).
  • Chipotle's Barbacoa Burrito (with shredded beef, pinto beans, rice, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, and salsa) hits nearly 1,300 calories and three-quarters of a day's worth of saturated fat. That's the equivalent of a Quarter Pounder, a large order of fries, and a large Coke.
  • Chipotle's Chicken Burrito Bols--burritos without the 340-calorie flour tortillas--are CSPI's only recommended "Better Bites" at Chipotle. A Bol with chicken, black beans, lettuce, and salsa, has just 430 calories and four grams of saturated fat. Rice instead of lettuce adds about 200 calories.
If you want a Chipotle Burrito and not a Bol, CSPI advises consumers holding the cheese and sour cream. That can save 200 calories and a half a day's worth of saturated fat. We estimate that skipping the rice could save 200 calories more. And most Chipotle Burritos are big enough for two meals: Just ask your server to wrap each half separately.

Wow! Thank you so much for the information, and my apologies to those who aren't near a Chipotle.

I won't get the rice, just because it's a food that seems useless to me, and from what I've read, is just not 'pouch friendly'.  I'll get the beans (DH always asks for black and pinto beans and they do that for him) and pork, cheese, tomato, then have the salsa (to check if it's too spicy), sour cream, and guacamole on the side.  I have a cold, so I'm not feeling well, so I'm not overly worried about the calories since I've only had 80 so far today, and I know I won't each enough to make the calories a huge issue. I'm craving this, but I know I'll eat 3-4 bites and be done with it. My pouch is very clear with me about when she is done, lol.

Thank you so much for your help.
