Thanks for responding, Don't think I've ever been this sick. C-diff. sucks. Hope that with all our posts that we can educate others so they don't have to go thru this. Good luck on your upcoming surgery and don't forget your Clorox wipes. Michele

You may want to ask your MD about Lactinex or Bacid in addition to the Flagyl.

I don't post often.  But this subject is one I know well.  C-diff made me very sick.  I had it - took flagyl  and it came back with a vengeance after the flagyl.  My doctor then gave me something called vancomycin (not sure of the spelling).  It took care of it quickly.  If it hadn't worked they were going to do something called pulse dosing of the vanco.  check with your doctor - I understand that this is starting to be the protocol for treating c-diff.   Obviously the flagyl isn't working - get back to the doctor immediately!!

i work as a rn on a infectious disease unit.  c-diff is nasty.  we use contact with strict handwashing prior to and after room visits.  i always recommend to patients even if they are there for another infection to order some yogurt with their meals to keep balanced.

i hope you get better.  take care

Thanks for taking the time to answer. I've been on that (Yuk) Flagyl for 7days today. Still not feeling great. Still am weak and having diarrhea. And I work as a letter carrier. Those two don't work to well. I've missed so much work because of this. Call in sick today and again went to pcp Dr. They sent me to hosp for more blood work and a CT scan with contrast. All came back fine. But they  told me the contrast would give me diarrhea. My eye almost popped out of my head. I'm home now and am barely making it to the bathroom. Feel like I should just put a bed pan under my big (less 40lbs) butt lol. Have 3 more days of Flagl left and they said to call them and let them know how I was doing. Yes diarrhea has lessened since the start of the Flagl on 7/7. They said that if not I'll have to go to a GI  DR. I know your not a Dr. but what do you think. Thanks Michele

I work for a pulmonary practice and we have people come to us all the time after having C-diff. when in the hospital. It is not fun, but it is important to stay hydrated. Luckily, You are much younger than many of them we see.

Boo on Flagyl. I hated flagyl so much.  It made me so sick that I just couldn't tolerate anything. All I wanted to do was sip coke and eat crackers. Luckily this was before WLS. A lot of antibiotics can take a while to see improvement, unforunately, that is just the nature of the beast.

Thank you so much for responding. I've been on Flagl 7days today. I'm still having diarrhea and very weak. I'm a letter carrier so It makes it hard to work with those conditions. Called in sick today and went to pcp again. They did blood work and a  CT scan at hosp. All turned out normal. I have 3 more days on that awful Flagl and then I'm to let them know how I'm doing. If that doesn't work they say I'll have to go to a GI  Doctor. I can only pray that by thurs. I can return back to work. The contrast fluid (all 62 oz) they told me would give me diarrhea!!!! I feel I just might as well sit on a bed pan lol.
