I searched for APA manuals on Amazon and found a pocket-sized one that has all the in text citation examples and reference page examples - it's been my best friend since last summer!

It's just not fair! My 16 year old told me he had write a paper in APA and I told him, "oh, I'm an expert by now" but it took me 9 months to get the hang of it without the manual every time. He said he didn't need my help because there's a website that does it for you - no fair!!  Yes, they do have it too easy!

Don't even get me started about their not having to use card catalogs anymore....anyone else requeired to take a Dewey decimal test before you could even use the school library!!!! The "scavenger hunts" they would make us to do to pretend it was "fun"....yeah right. I hear students today talk about if the source isn't full online they just won't use it...I on the other hand found a book that fits my topic perfectly, however, it's checked out and not due bac****il the 9th....and my paper is due the 8th....oh well...

Geez!  Back in the days when I was in college you had to do this stuff for yourself.  And then you had to type in on your old Smith Corona (if you were lucky enough to have an electric typewriter) and put cabon paper in with anther sheet if you wanted your own copy!    Yep, I know, I'm ancient!! I've never relyed on the citations that are given to me by those cites or programs that are out there .. I guess i have no faith but i always double check and end up writing my own anyway.

HE-He-He! I teach with a person who stills requires high school juniors to do a big (20 page) research paper with note cards and FOOTNOTES!  (She still has some handouts that are copies of mimeographed sheets too.)  She just discover that the kids are going to the internet, typing in their topic and voila!  a complete paper appears.  (Little fools forgot to delete the website address printed at the bottom of the page when they printed out the papers! I just copied the websites and sent them to my school e-mail.  Thanks.

They forgot to delete the web address on the bottom of the page - too funny! All my college papers are put through a plagiarism website to make sure we aren't!
