Today on my bike ride, I passed a guy riding the neatest recumbent bike.  It had 3 wheels and lots of storage, the wheels were like street bike wheels.....I'd love to have one.  But I bet it's between 1 and 3K.  I'm gonna go look at them soon....and just hope hope hope they aren't way out of my range. Part of the reason I love love love where I live, is that I can walk to Walgreens, CVS and Publix.....probably less than 1/4 mile.  I can ride my bike to the library (when I'm able again) and old downtown Daytona on Beach Street along the river....... And no heat in the winter.....waaaahoooooo. Hugs Charlie

Biking is an expensive hobby.  With gas prices though the investment may be worth it.  I know we spent about $2.5K on TJ's road bike.   I have wanted to try the recumbent bikes too.  The only bad thing about them is riding in traffic because you're so low to the ground.  Most people put one of those orange flags on a pole behind their seat so traffic spots them more easily.  TJ and I also have two tandem bikes - one's a fixie and one is a Cannondale.  We ride the Schwinn Twinn around the neighborhood sometimes.  The Cannondale still scares me some.  I need to get to a point where I can clip in to the pedals to ride with TJ.  I do have to remember not to serve Mexican the night before we ride the tandem!  You should look on Craigslist and see if you can find a used recumbent.  Our daughter lives in Ohio so when we're looking for things we look in her area.  Right now we're looking for a used baby trailer ... for obvious reasons.  We figure it can double as a grocery hauler too! Now thats a cool thing.  I'll look into a carrier of some sort, like the baby carrier.  I can't afford a $2K bike.  I don't really need it....I can scrape up the concrete for a lot less.  But, I also need something to 'haul' in.  The basket is the pits.....it throws off the balance.  I like riding without it.  It's so much cheaper to ride the bikes around town.  And good exercise. Um.....have the Mexican.....but ride in the front! Hugs C

If you want to see something fascinating watch this YouTube video of a group of cyclists moving a whole household full of furniture (including a boat) by bikes ... even a recumbent.  When you look for trailers for your bike watch for the weight limits.  We have found them anywhere from 45 pounds to 200 pounds I think.  There are a lot of trailer options; we're going to get the one that will haul at least two kids so when the next one comes along we'll be set.  Plus we can use it to move things or go shopping.  Gotta get to bed - we're doing a two hour ride tomorrow morning before church.  DeeDee  The image    The image

Ouch!  Well, under normal cir****tance and folks with normal digestive systems, I'd say take some ibuprofen, ice it and keep it elevated.  I guess you'll have to substitute some tylenol!  I hope you feel better soon. Linda
