I think your loss since surgery is Great, do watch those carbs I wish I hadn't have added them so soon or better Yet at all, that is one thing I can't get back nor change that mistake It did slow my weight loss down considerably....I do know that changine your exercise/eating regimine kinda "shake things up" should get you back to losing, I can't remember the exact amt of calories I ate @ 3 mos out but is 600 not too Low?   Read this profile about stalls a friend of mine has on her page, it is what her doc told her and a Good Read: http://www.obesityhelp.com/member/djwood/

Hey girl...you are doing great.  You had surgery a week before me and I am only down 27 lbs.  I stalled for two weeks at week 3 so you want to talk depressed and unmotivated, I thought I must be the only person on this earth who can screw up RNY.  Guess what????  I lost 10 lbs after the stall and I believe I lost inches.  I didn't measure before I started but my clothes feel great.  Always ask for a hug when you need it...it doesn't make you needy it makes you human.  I am happy to offer mine to you!!! HUGS!

1st of all- You are doing AMAZING! Ditch that scale for a week or 2, then prepare for a great WOW moment! as far as getting more protein without shakes i'm clueless. I don't know how i'd do it without my shake every morning! i've never heard of a doc or nut saying no, esp this early out.   if you find something, let me know cuz i'm getting pretty bored with the same old! Good Luck!
LIFE IS GOOD!!! Good luck to everyone! EVERY WOW moment is a success!

LOOK AT MY TICKER!!! I've lost 16 pounds in 4 weeks!! And my surgeon says that's at the high end of weight loss at this point. I've been flirting with the same 2 pounds for 3 weeks!!!! Frustrating - YES! Yesterday I was just plain pissed off at it all. I'm usually the one telling others not to worry about the numbers because it's impossible to NOT lose on 600 calories a day. But I was also exhausted.  Today I got 9 hours of sleep and actually hit 74g protein for the first time and over 1000 calories. The scale finally got past those 2 stupid pounds - and when I put on my scrubs for work, this shirt that used to very snug now has more than breathing room!

Stop weighing yourself would be my suggestion!

HUGS Christine

I've had the same sort of situation... for me, it started with Kashi cereals and chewy granola bars.  They taste good, and I told myself that I needed the fiber/bulk from them. Well, at 15 months out, I'm okay with the loss slowing down, but I would be much happier if I was able to cut them out completely and get to where I really want to be with my weight! I am working on it - thanks in part to the increased cost of gas for my car and the price of basic groceries!  Have to really reign in the budget and all. Anyway... I know how hard it is to get that stuff out of your diet once you start... I know you (and I!) can do it, though! ~wendy

For me it started because I was so nauseas that the only things i could eat were these damn carbs.  Well, like I said, they are gone as of now.  I didn't even realize I was doing it!  I don't need that crap in my body and neither do you!  Good luck and thanks for the encouragement, Wendy.

Hi, I had my ryn on5/28/08. My consult was on 5/1/08 From consult to today I have lost 26 lbs. I think your doing great. As far as protein I'm supposed to get 60g. per day. I usually get pretty close and somtimes over, it's the fluid intake that I can't seem to meet. 64oz. I've eaten the following and now 3 wks out. Chicken, tuna, turkey sausage pattie, eggs, shrimp, turkey burger, cottage cheese, riccatta cheese, string cheese. I found a great web site and have just order stuff from them. It waldenfarms.com. All their  products are 0 cal,0 carb and sugar free. They even have a peanut butter spread. Many salad drsgs. Mayo, Sauces and Syrups, Dips, ect. It's great. Keep up the great job. Hope this helps Michele

Hey Cathie, missed you on our reg. post tonight.  I have talked to you almost everyday through our journey so far and we are very close in dates.  I think hormones are getting the better of you.  Only one way to regain control over them, get those endorphins flowing big time.  I am giving you the same advise I need for myself btw so here is to the both of us.  I think we need to breath hard and sweat, no not that, at the gym.  Is there a Y nearby or what about a month by month at a bigger gym?  I need to get my booty to mine too.  TTYL  Gina  :  )

Thanks, I will check out walden farms for sure!  I'm going to order some PB2, so that should up my protein a bit.  Thanks again!

I'm going to tell you something about when I was anorexic that might help you. I would eat 50-100 calories a day and exercise 3-4 hours 2x's a day, sometimes more than that...and...I STILL didn't lose weight everyday! It made me insane (ok, I was already on the verge of insanity anyways, lol) but I could go a whole week like that and only lose a pound. There's no logic to it, but because that would happen at 500 calories I cut down to 400, then 300 then 100, then 50. See what I mean?  Weighing everyday and expecting to see a change everyday can make you crazy. I stopped weighing in then and trusted my body to lose weight, and it did. I'm not...NOT...suggesting you become anorexic, but I'm hoping you can see through that experience that stalls happen no matter what weight loss tool you use. Your body is programed to survive, and once it realizes it's going to get food and doesn't need to conserve energy (calories out) then it lets go. And girlie...if I were in your shoes, I'd be THRILLED with that weight loss! You are changing old habits, taking a look at everything you eat and what it's benefits or downfalls are, and you...a self-professed non-exerciser is now adding in walking and wii fit! That is totally an accomplishment! I personally think you are much too hard on yourself. Trust the process. Your body is now set for losing weight. You are making significant changes in your lifestyle...and your body WILL respond. BTW....my DH had a cholesterol level of 365 (it's a hereditary thing for him). He is thin, but was told to go on a low fat diet (he never ate much high fat food anyways) and to start cholesterol meds. Well, he declined and said he was going to focus only on his diet and exercise. Yesterday he was told his number is now 216!   He didn't check his cholesterol everyday to see if his diet/exercise was working...and it made it so much easier for him to just do what he knew to be successful and trust the process. He hoped it was lower, but he never knew...he just kept trusting it would be. I learned from that. I saw how it was easier for him to just keep doing his plan because he didn't keep obsessing over 'if' it was working.  :)  I plan to remember that when I am post-op. His process was easier and involved less mental torture because he just did what he was told would work and he trusted it. :) And this process obviously works because look at how much weight you've lost!!!! :)
