I can not do them period. It is the bending at the knee that hurts maybe when i am alot smaller but i hurt my knee awhile ago and it is just catching up with me now..

I would suggest for now to just stick to walking and swimming if you can.  They have grea****er workouts that shape you greatly but no pressure on  your joints.  Do you have access to a pool and an instructor?

Well i will just stick to walking for right now but i just thought maybe u would know of something. But I will try again as my weight goes down you never know but thanks for the info......i like to read your posts!

Hi Carrie,

I really didn't start doing exercising until after about 6 months of losing weight. It was just to much on my knees and back. Once I lost 100 pounds I joined curves...I did that with some water exercises and then after reaching goal I really then hit the ground hard. I was getting ready for PS....

Don't be down about not being able to not to do much...you are moving and that is so important. You are right, take it slow and as the weight comes off you will be able to do more...

You just don't want to get hurt and not be able to move at all. I had to lay in bed the first 3 months and it's no fun. I was watching the food network...now how sick is that?!

Kathy, I walked on the treadmill, then did arms.  treiceps and biceps and chest.  Did some crunches.  Yesterday i did squats and lunges my legs arent sore yet but i might be able to feel it tomorrow.  thanks michelle

I have lost 115#'s.  I had my surgery on January 20, 2004.

Hi Michelle, I found the second day was when it hit me soreness wise...  If not, then you need to add more weights and go deeper on your lunges and squats.  Try putting a chair down and doing squats like that here is an example if you  have not tried it... http://www.shapefit.com/quadriceps-exercises-barbell-squats- to-bench.html Have a great weekend! Well, I've had a walk between the rain and snow mixture that is falling , but I'm also cleaning out my office today.  My boss insists that I clean it up, so I'm doing the best I can.  I've had to move several file cabinets and a desk.  I probably shouldn't have because of my bad back, but there is no one else to help, so I'm doing it.  Taking a break right now, then I'll get back to it. Heya Kathy...I got your last message. ANd YES...I tried changing my avatar a few weeks/month ago, but I couldn't get it "to go." Anyhoo-I'm in the latest issue of OH Magazine...for exercise stoof. I need to change my profile. I'm having issues :(
