I just read that Mr. Williams and his wife of 19 years have decided to divorce.  She filed but there wasn't any explanation.

I read that too.  It made me sad.  I just got married this month and it made me feel bad knowing they made it through 19 years and then call it quits?  Is there hope for marriage to last forever?

i do think there is hope for a marriage to last forever.....and here's why. we have been married for almost 40 years now.( i met him at college i was 16 and he was 24)..and yes, i still like him and actually lust him on wednesdays as well....... people say how is this possible.????.....the truth is that we both had our own careers and didn't see each other for about 20 years! everyone always comments about how wonderful my husband is blah blah blah........i'm like EXCUSE me...............???you think he came off the A &P shelf like that......it took years of work and torturing him to get him that way!! when the kids left for college it was scary...we had to look at each other again and really didn't know if we still liked each other. we started to "date" all over again,  and found out that actually, we still really liked each other. the love part is easier! when my day is going poorly or i'm down and out...i think about how lucky i have been to be one of the very rare one's to have found my soul mate. many times it helps me make it thru the day......the days i'm not mad at him..that is! you're marriage will work...but it takes a lot of work to make it good! sue

Here's the hope you're looking for: I just read an article about a couple who broke the world record.  They have been married for 83 years.  I think they were 16 (her) and 18 when they married.   To quote some of what really matters - Their six children — three have been married for 50 years or longer — begat 39 grandchildren, who begat 101 great-grandchildren, who have so far begotten 40 great-great-grandchildren. If you’re keeping score at home, that’s 186 descendants.  FAMILY baby - family is what matters.  Not really our weight (but of course our health). Enjoy the article: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23671580/

Didn't he marry the nanny? Maybe she got too old for him.

Yup, he married his nanny.  I like him, but he has been through a lot...drugs and all.  Plus, i can only imagine his personality 24/7.  Might be a bit testing.  Only THEY know the reaon it didn't work out. Hopefully it will be an amicable divorce? HA!

I believe she's also been his manager for a good many years.  This is going to hurt him in other places besides his heart. CitS
