Did you move to lose today? Weekend Edition

What a gorgeous day it is here in Oregon today.  A bit on the chilly side (well, for some of you 45 is a heat wave!), but sunny and pretty.  There's a bit of a breeze, so it can feel really cold.  I got in a 20 minute workout with light weights this morning, then went for a three mile walk.  Then I went to Costco to do some shopping.  I think they must have been giving something away today.  Everyone was there -- the parking lot was a nightmare!!   So, I parked way down in the back.  Then I began my Costco ritual, which is to get inside the store and make a pass around the entire outside of the store before I start shopping.  I got my stuff, got out of the store, then the biggest challenge was getting the car out of the parking lot.  What is it about Costco that makes people crazy?  My brother and I call it the Costco School of Fine Driving!  Now I'm home and have done some housework.  I may be going out in that gorgeous weather again in a little bit to wash my car.  I can't believe how dirty it is already. So, check in -- what did you do today?  Are you working on that challenge to increase your exercise for the next several weeks?  Let's go -- move it, move it, move it!! (Brings back memories of Gomer Pyle, for those of you who are old enough to remember that). Linda

Oh Brrrr!  I used to live near Rochester, NY and thought everyone in Eugene was a wimp when I moved here.  Well, now I'm one of the wimpiest, because I'm always cold!  People in my office are walking around in T-shirts, and I'm wearing a zipped up fleece jacket.   Stay safe in that ice storm!  It's great you got out and moving before it gets there. Way to go!  That's one of the things l love about a good long walk -- you get warmed up by the end.   Linda

HI Linda! I made it to a power yoga class yesterday - my thighs are still burning - LOL!!  Today I have been cleaning the house.  I am sad to say, I have not ventured out today - it did look nice and sunny here in NJ, but I think it was cold.  Cleaning the house is not one of my favorite activities, so if I actually did get dressed and go out, I wouldn't have come back in to clean - LOL!!

I know what you mean -- I really hate to clean but sadly, it must be done every now and then.  Housework does burn calories though -- sometimes I put the blues on loud while I'm cleaning and try to have fun with it. Linda

Holy smokes!  Good for you.  I've been told I can't run again.  I have three ruptured discs in my back.  Maybe someday, if I get myself strong enough again, otherwise, I'll have to content myself with walking/hiking.  I'll bet you burned tons of calories.  Way to go!! Linda

I did day 1 of teh couch to 5k program - 5 min warm up, then alternating 90s of walking, 60s of running for 20 mins, then a cool down. I made it through the whole thing, woot!
