It's been ages so forgive me for forgetting!  Does anyone have the recipe for the protein balls?  Oats, sugar free syrup, pnut butter, protein powder...all I need is to know HOW MUCH OF WHAT????

Thanks...

Here is one my support group leader sent me. Protein balls 1 cup protein powder ( chocolate or vanilla) 1 cup non-fat dry milk 1 cup rice crispy cereal 1 cup peanut butter Splenda to taste cocoa powder mixed with Splenda Add the protein powder, dry milk, cereal and peanut butter in a mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly making sure that all the dry milk is in the mix and not visible. Form the mixture into small balls ( about 1.5 inches in diameter) Roll in the cocoa/splenda mix. Refrigerate. Each ball has about 10 grams of protein

You can also use oats instead (I think it's supposed to be the old-fashioned type, not instant, but can't remember) if you're sensitive to rice (i.e. bloating) ..   This is the first time I've seen it with milk ..  I guess you could substitute soy milk if you are lactose intolerant (?)   I like to make the "meat" version of protein balls, too, and I keep stocked up on them all the time to snack on or have for b/f:  Take two cups of any kind of shredded cheese (except low-fat, low moisture varieties --  I prefer extra sharp cheddar) and a pound of any kind of pork sausage (I prefer the "sage" variety of Owen's or Jimmy Dean) .. Let both warm up to room temp in a big mixing bowl and then mix in 1 1/2-2 cups of Bisquik mix (depending on how "meaty" you want them to come out) ..  I sometimes use that triple cheese biscuit mix that they sell in stores, instead ..  Form them into small balls and bake on a cookie sheet @ 400 degrees for about 10 minutes ..  Let cool 15 mins and then put on paper towels ... The recipe makes about 18 or so balls, and you can store them in the freezer in freezer bags, or leave out at room temp for days in Tupperware.  Just zap for about 30 secs in microwave to thaw and heat up ...   yummm!

This meat version sounds really awesome. I will have to try it when i am further out and can allow myself meat. Thanks again! ~Heather
