Post op from a total reversal of my gastric bypass

God bless you my dear.  Have you ever wondererd why God wanted you to remain here ifyou are suffering each and everyday of your life/  I think it's becasue I need to be around to help save others lves.  if unable to talk to them via email, they can call me. i have had numerous NG tubes down my throat, I have had piCC lines in boh arms at one point.  thanks goodness in my portacath I have right now.  It's saving my veins. I think God wants me here to educate.  Surgeons are wonderful, but there is so much that they don' t know.  Like for example giving a person Flinstone chewable vitamins @3-4 per day, and than you throw them up, what good does that do? One doctor told me he didn't  want to take my case.  That i was "too omplex'.  So, I now even it's me against the whole world. I would like to be involved in the weight loss world somehow.  I don't want anyone to go through what I do on a daily basis. Lastly, they think I am having problems with myy lver now.  I go to the hospital to get a CT Scam or ultrasound of my liver on Monday. Say some prayers, and thank you for making me feel like i have family again.  So what I don't have a pouch.   Sandy.

I am so sorry this has happened to you Sandra. WLS is fantastic for most people, but there is a small percentage where it triggers a long list of complications that sound horrible. Several people have suggested researching the doctor is really important and I agree, but I would like to say also that the system isn't setup for patients to truly check out the doctor. The system is very opaque and difficult to navigate. There aren't good ways to do side by side comparisons of surgeons like you would when comparing cars or cruise ships. We just go with the surgeon we like best, not knowing how skilled they are in the OR or if they'll make good decisions when confronted to unusual situations.
