OT: Crying in my coffee for Robin Roberts from ABC's Good Morning America

I watch GMA every morning because I really love Robin and Diane and the guys.  This was just heartbreaking to hear.  (It also explains why she looked like she hadn't slept the first day she came back a couple of days ago.)  I'm taking comfort in the fact that they say her cancer is being caught early -- hopefully things will go well for this wonderful woman.  Thank you, too, for the reminder that we all need to check regularly!  I was due in March for my most recent one, but put it off because I already had so many appointments related to my surgery.  I'll definitely get it addressed ASAP now, though.  My prayers go out to Robin and her family.  We love you!  Jacqi

OHHHH!!  Thank you for posting this - I love Robin Roberts - in fact, I recently had my hairstylis****ch GMA  because I love Robin's hair so much I wanted it cut like hers!  (She informed me that MY hair does not have the same TEXTURE that Robin's does and to not expect the same results - DUH!)  Hairy

I am on the west coast so I turned on the tv - I am hoping to see her still today.  Will she be on?  TV 2

I am so sad - GMA hasn't had it easy lately - Joel Siegel, Peter Jennings, losing Charlie to the nightly news, their war correspondent ( I can't remember his name)  Miss U

She was on this morning and announced it herself while talking with Diane.  Bob Woodard is the war correspondent.  I just love Robin.  She's so real.  I was moved by her humanity and vulnerability when she was, like so many, worried and looking for her family after Katrina, and then allowing us to follow her home to see the devastation.  I cried this morning as if she were part of my family.   JackieBel

I love Robin Roberts too. Her sister, Sally Ann Roberts, is our anchor person here in New Orleans. Lovely family. Thanks for the mammogram reminder. I have a 32 yr. old neice that has been fighting breast cancer for over a year. I lost my sister at 55 from breast cancer, and my first cousin at 50 yrs. old.

I saw Robin's announcement this morning too and what is even scarier is....the lump was not detected on the mommogram.  They could not see the mass until they did an ultrasound and then biopsied it and diagnosed her with breast cancer.  had her Dr. not also ordered an ultrasound the cancer would not have been detected so soon.  God Bless her.
