Thanks all. I am not going away--I am just an adventurer. Doesn't anyone read two newspapers at the same time anymore? Washington Post in one hand and NY Times in the other? Being as aware of WLS as possible should be at the heart of our curiosity here. Oh well, for me anyway. Ha! You all are cute. I would say just google it. The politics of it being given on this site seem too overwhelming. However, I can say I haven't seen a site like this before and don't know if now anything could be quite as comprehensive. I would suggest that you also check out the sub-forums. Sometimes you can find what you need there.
Good Luck!
Hello!
The reason people are skirting around your question is that somebody posted a similar question just a few days ago, and was accused of being a poop-stirrer from another smaller site where several folks who've been kicked off of this one have made a new "cyber" home. By reading the responses to your question here, you can probably guess who the accuser was in that thread.
Personally, I don't get the line of thinking that it's somehow disloyal to seek out other sources of information and support aside from this site. You asked if there are other web sites "like this" anywhere, and my answer to that would be, "Not really!" This site is, to me, unique in the breadth of information it provides, and the HUGE network of support services it provides in the form of messageboards, private messaging, profiles/blogs, chat rooms, databases of articles, and links with medical professionals and vendors of all types. I believe it is the most comprehensive site for obesity help around. I certainly have not seen another site that comes remotely close in terms of the wide scope of services and information it offers.
But it is not the only site. And in my view, a person would be a fool to limit themselves to a single source of information about such a big, important issue, especially for people who are preparing to make their own decisions about WLS. In my view, it's important to seek out every source of support out there, take what you find helpful from each and all, and leave the rest.
Also, to clarify, It is NOT against the TOS to post links to other sites, even other WLS-related sites. THat is nowhere in the Terms of Service (TOS). It is only against the TOS to post links to sites that violate the TOS for things such as obscenity, etc. The full list is in the TOS which you can click to at the bottom of almost every screen on this site.
So all that said, here are a few links:
FatBlog
Quixotic
Yahoo has loads of discussion groups on various WLS topics. I went to groups.yahoo.com and typed in "WLS" for the search term - it had 702 results!
Those are the only ones I'm personally aware of. You might find others doing a Google search. Or maybe others will post about other sites that they visit.
There are several smaller blog-type sites that are great, too. There's a "sassy ladies of WLS" webring which many personal sites are member of - hopefully this link will take you to the webring list of sites.
Amy Williams, an OH staff member, has a couple of great sites also - her story is incredible. Here is a link to her profile, and she has a links to her other stuff there.
Happy Surfing! I hope you find all the info you need!

I love OH.com and it is by far my favorite WLS site.
The only other site that I regularly use is http://www.beforeandafterhelp.com/. I like the organization of the boards much better there. Sometimes I think that OH is too segmented by its boards. For example, if I have a question, do I post it to the main forum, the RNY forum, the NJ forum, the March 2007 forum or the mens forum. With http://www.beforeandafterhelp.com/, they only have 5 forums so it is much easier.
From a quality of advice perspective, the advive on http://www.beforeandafterhelp.com/ is close to what is given on OH.com.
