How long do foamies last?

I'm currently going on 11 hours.  I finally threw up about 3 1/2 hours ago, and I felt a little better after that, but they've returned.  I have only managed to have 4 ounces of liquid today.  It all started with a scrambled egg this morning.  I've had eggs dozens of times, and they've never caused a problem before.  I couldn't fini**** and since today was my first full day back to work since my surgery, I just thought I had probably tried to eat too fast so I wouldn't be running late. Here I am, 11 hours later, and I feel no better....there's still a rock in my chest, and I'm still burping up foamies.  I feel like if I throw up again, I'll be doing better, but I can't seem to make myself do it. Any ideas? Stephanie

My experience is that the foamies last until you bring up the offending thing or it passes through.....My assumption would be that something is still stuck in your pouch or sitting on top of the stoma if you still have the foamies.

Wow I have had them ( to often to my liking grr) but never had them last that long. Usually I just have some warm tea and it either soothes it or helps what ever is buggin my tummy come up faster and boom its over and I feel fine. Sorry to hear the foamies are hanging on for you. Try some warm tea and see if that helps. As always you should give your surgeon a call just incase its more then something simply not agreeing with you.

When I got the foamies, it didn't stop till I rid myself of the offending food. Are you sure that all the egg is out of your stomach?I've heard it suggested that you take a little meat tenderizer and warm water and it might disolve it for you. I feel for you. The foamies suck! HTH Lunchie

everyone's body is different I get the foamies if I don't eat enough, i'm afraid to know my limit because I don't want to throw up.  Some people get the foamies if they overeat.

My foamies have only lasted till the pouch ejects the offending food out.  Sometimes I have let them pass and it has lasted about 30 mins to max an hour. You really have had them for a really long time. Moni
