My husband's complaint:
6 weeks post op and 40 lbs gone. Want to hear what my husband is complaining about?
DH: "I never get to sit around and watch TV anymore". YEP. That's right-- I've been feeling so good lately, we don't sit around all weekend long watching movies-- we are walking-- as a family, going to the park, or biking! I actually bought a bike on Friday-- which is a whole different story. For any of you pre-ops reading this and still undecided about surgery-- I went from 9 meds a day to 3-- from diabetes being out of control and having to give myself 2 insulin shots a day to none. I was so sedentary, I could not walk from the parking lot to the office without getting out of breath and sweating. Now, I'm walking, doing water aerobics, or attempting (lol) to bike ride at least 45 minutes daily. I used to hate exercising-- now I crave it and try to find ways to make it fun. I could not imagine this prior to surgery. I'm also fitting into clothes sizes I haven't seen in 5 or 6 years. A few years back DH and I were on WW together, and he lost 80+ lbs and I lost maybe 20. He wanted to walk and exercise 1-2 hours a day! Well, I hated to exercise, so I labeled him the exercise nazi. Now the tables are turned-- although I don't nag I just "encourage".
