I just gotta ask...
Foamies occur when a bite that is too big (not well enough chewed) is swallowed or you overeat. Your body reacts and there is an oversalivation that occurs. You get heavy and thick saliva and it keeps flowing til the situation resolves and often throwing up resolves it. To me, throwing up (only done it twice in 18 months) is different than pre-op. Not as much diaphragm action so I do not get sore rib muscles afterwords. It still sucks. LOL!
One thing that can help is papaya enzyme tablets. If you feel like a bite got away from you or if food is sitting very heavy in your pouch, chew a few. It helps break proteins down. Saved me many-a-times.

WalMart often has papaya enzyme. Some grocery stores have it by the vitamins/herbs. Vitamin stores. It is fairly inexpensive too.

Yep, pretty much what she said! It is basically a lot of saliva and it gets kind of foamy...i have had it twice...both times from eating chicken...so now i totally avoid chicken. (Well, at least chicken that is baked or cooked in the pan.) I can tolerate chicken salad and chicken cooked in a crock pot...because they are so moist.
Good luck with your research!
