I think that's me too.  50/50 lurker/poster.  I am always short on time, ALWAYS.  If I could get my degree by simply sitting at my computer all day replying to posts that is what I would do.  But I have to go to class and I have to spend time with people out here in the real world and I have to eat and exercise and sleep and all that jazz.  Since I had WLS I get to LIVE.  Here is my 24/7 message to OH... I love you OH.  You helped me get my surgery and thus you helped me get my life back!  I cannot thank you enough.  You bless me on a daily basis.  I love the blogs I get to check out while I am here and it is very theraputic to get to write in my own.  I really get a lot out of reading posts and q&a and all the other things this site offers.  I wish I could reply more, and I really do try.  So love me too, even if I can only pop in now and then.  Thanks guys, you are more special to me than I could ever tell you online.  I mean it.

I am probably 90% lurker, 10% poster.  Like so many others I usually only respond when I have something useful to say, I just don't see the point of responding otherwise.   And I just never get involved in argumentative posts, it's really not worth it and not why I come to OH.   I think this website is wonderful and I have learned so much from reading about other peoples' experiences.  And it's FREE!  I am not so far out from surgery and still have about halfway to go to get to my goal.  I really like reading about the experiences and issues of "graduates" because like everyone else here, I want to be successful long term.   Those are the posts I look for and read mostly, and because I'm not there yet, I don't usually respond, I just read and learn.   Karen53

I am definitely a lurker. I've been a member for over a year and have only posted a couple of times. I've replied a handful of times only when I thought I could really offer some assistance. I tend to be a shy introverted person and I find the main board very intimidating with all the flaming (especially of newbies). I don't think people should be coddled when they are potentially doing something that could hurt themselves but people can be just plain mean and evil on the main board. There is a way to point something in the right direction without being hateful. That being said I am on OH almost everyday gaining valuable information from so many people. Thanks to everyone who is brave enough to post and share their great information. Beth

I am also a lurker. I really am a very shy person and sometimes I feel I don't have anything to say that will help ;but I know that is wrong. Heidi I think you are a wonderful person and have so much to say that helps all of us so keep on posting. We are like any other family and have disagreements but love each other in spite of our differences that is what make each one of us unique. Keep posting!!!!!!

Love ya,

Dee

Hiya all!!  well once again I almost read a thread and didn't reply so I guess that definately classifys me as a lurker.  Honestly I appreciate this group allowing me and others to lurk because sometimes the best knowledged gained is through others experiances!!!!  It is great to read a thread and see that someone has been where you are now and overcame and if not what they have/are doing to overcome!!  As I read this I said what I think has been said several times so why waste space and repeat...   I would like to stress that I do appreciate the members here that are so willing to share their experiances and reply to questions and concers so quickly!!!  This group has definately helped me a lot, not to give up on my desire/need to have WLS!!  When I begin to get discouraged in this journey I turn to this group and read some treads and profile and realize I'm not the only one whose been here and I get strengh to carry on!!

Great post I too am 50% lurker, 50% poster. I post when I think I have something of value to add. Just because I don’t always respond dose not mean that I do not support everyone here.  I love this board!!

I am a lurker because frankly 99% of the time if it has to do with WLS, well, I'm at a loss.  There are also times I feel like an outsider because of the fact that I am a non-op in a WLS world.  I have been a member of OH since June of 2005 and I have watched journeys of so many that have long since come and gone.   Without this site I could not have been as successful.  I still follow it religiously...well it and the Plastic Surgery board now! Then there are times where I don't get on here for a while and if I find something that I want to respond to, it's 8 pages back.   However, after reading Heidi's posts I sincerely see that even I am the 50th person to wish someone well, they will appreciate it.  I will keep that in mind.
