Topic: RE: I am so disgusted with myself! Almost 4 years out and 50 pound weight gain
I too had gastric bypass in December 2007. I also was maintaining at about 150, then the carb monster took over. I ate and ate carbs until I had gained back almost 30 pounds. When I had to buy bigger pants just so I could go to work, I woke up and decided I had to get the weight off. I am glad to say that when I went back to basics, the weight came off. I have now lost the 30 pounds. This is how I did it:
Week One I ate nothing but protein; absolutely no added carbs just like when I was newly post-op. It is amazing how little I could eat when I left off the carbs. It was difficult, but it was worth it.
Week Two: I ate protein first and added two servings of vegetables per day and one fruit, but no bananas.
Week Three until goal: I continued week two until the weight was all gone. I am glad to report I am now at 148 pounds. I actually lost a few more than 30 pounds.
Gastric bypass is a tool and luckily my tool still works. Good luck in your journey to return to your comfortable weight.

Topic: Hey BAMA BABES AND BUDS!
Good Morning Bama Board Babes and Buds,
So, I went to the Claybank Jamboree and my Goodness did I get some AWESOME craft ideas! I Love to craft that's my hobby and I love these craft shows. The big problem with anything in the SOUTH IS FOOD. It's Everywhere, and none of it good for you. However, I did pretty good. My Best Fiend Pat went with me and we shared a Funnel Cake, I bought 4 roasted ears of corn to bring home and took a nibble of the sausage from a polish sausage dog...minus the bun and I drank WATER! We walked for about two hours and just enjoyed the beautiful weather and the entertainment. So, although I did not say No to the funnel cake, I did say WHOA!
Be Blessed,
Lisa

Let me start by saying...I am a horrible Alabama poster. LOL I have had my hands a little full lately. I do however have news for you ladies....
Caleb Mason Miller entered the world UNEXPECTEDLY on Thursday September 29, 2011 @ 10:19p. I started getting BH (or so I thought) contractions around 10 am. Around 2p I noticed they were getting a bit stronger, so I decided to call the doc and inform him since I had previous preterm with my daughter. (Caleb was only 36 weeks) Well, to my surprise the Doc suggested I come to the office and be on a monitor. Well after calling my husband and waiting to get my niece off the school bus, we finally get out the door and to the office. I go on the monitor and BAM! contractions are 3 mins apart and I am 3 cm dialated. The doc said it was too late to stop labor at this point, so he would send me to the hospital to be on the safe side and if contractions stopped on their own, good, if not....wed have a section.
Needless to say (obviously by the post) the contractions didnt stop. I was checked around 6p and was 4 cm dialated and still every 3 mins. I had a c-section w/ spinal block (weird, i did an epi with my daughter) Caleb was born within seconds and screamed with all his might coming out. LOL
He is in NICU (boohiss) because he is having a little trouble breathing. He is breathing 23% oxygen via cpap, and hopefully will be weening off it completely today. Then the next goal is to have his "pressure" of the CPAP down to 7 - he is currently at 8. (I just got off the phone with the NICU nurse its 530a and they do shift change between 6-8 and we cant visit till 8) Caleb gained an ounce!! So he is currently sitting at 5pounds 12ounces! WOO HOO!!![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/thumbsup2.gif)
I woke up this morning to pump, actually wanted to get up at 3a but overslept right through my alarm. WOOPS. I somehow woke up at 4 (luckily) and immediatly got to pumping! I was able to get OVER AN OUNCE!!!
I had such horrible success with my daughter and breast feeding, its just amazing me I am doing this well for Caleb. **I think God knows he NEEDS this liquid Gold more than she did**
Anyway....I will try to keep everyone posted on his progress, any prayers are MORE than welcome!! Lord knows we need all we can get and selfishly I want him to get better fast and get out of this NICU life.![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/wavey.gif)
God Bless you all and hope everyone is doing well!!

Topic: About to face the FUNNEL CAKE
Well, It's SATURDAY! I am about to head out to one of my loves, the Claybank Jamboree. It's an art's and crafts gathering in the middle of downtown Ozark Alabama. I Love it but you know there are these villains at those things. Waiting to catch you off guard. HIGH CALORIE, LOW NUTRITION, CARBOHYDRATE, FAT, LADEN SNACKS!
My plan is to grab a bottle of water, see what I need to see, and say NO to the poison!
I'll be back!

You can do it!!!!! I think you have made a wonderful decision to get back to the basics and start the liquid diet. By making the decision to not keep gaining is the first step to getting to the weight you desire!
Best of luck!
Leslie
