I healed from my C-section 4 years ago, with no problem. I hurt for 2 or 3 days and that was it. I'm hoping I'm a fast healer.

check this out directly from my policy:
3. Documentation must be present of participation in medically supervised weight loss program. For purposes of coverage, we (BCBS) recognize medical supervision of the diet and activity program by practicing MD's who are not bariatric surgeons, such as family practitioners, internists, and other primary care specialties (medically supervised weight loss or activity programs generally are not a covered benefit). Documentation provided by these health care providers will be recognized in the review process. At least
one attempt must occur during the one year prior to request for surgery or date of surgery. Documentation must support participation in the program for six consecutive months. The following criteria must be met for this participation:
Documentation of participation in a physician supervised program of nutrition and increased physical activity (including dietitian consultation, low calorie diet, increased physical activity and behavioral modification). Documentation of program participation must appear in the medical record no less than monthly for a period of 6 consecutive months by the attending physician. Documentation should include comments by the physician regarding patient progress or lack of progress. A letter does not meet this requirement. There must be medical records to document medically supervised weight loss attempts;OR
Medical record documentation of a 6 consecutive month, nutrition-led weight loss program (Weigh****chers, LA Weight Loss, Jenny Craig, EatRight, etc.) with a minimum of 3 physician visits during that 6 month period documenting medical supervision, Not acceptable are self-directed programs such as joining a gym, Atkins’ diet, calorie counting, low fat, cutting back, internet programs, etc. Topic: RE: Weigh****chers?
WOW.....insurances are very different. I had no idea people who needed this surgery has such a difficult time!
I have Federal BC BS and I didn't have to have any documentation other than my own report of what I presented to the surgeon's office that I had tried in the past!
FED BCBS didn't require any type of wait time.
I was approved in about 3 weeks!

I would definitely have someone available for the 1st week after surgery. I personally was very sore and needed a full week to heal and even feel like doing minimal walks.
After you get past the 1st couple of weeks, I think you are going to see a sudden INCREASE in your energy. I know I did. Maybe it was also the excitement of seeing the # on the scale dropping fast those first few months....but whatever it was, I felt GREAT!

L: Coffee
D: 1 baked italian sausage, few bites kraut
D2: handful of carrots and cherry tomatoes with french onion dip
S: ???? Lite and Fit Yogurt or more veggies with dip
Exercise: None today. Body too achey and stomach with too many cramps......will walk in the morning.

Also, it could very well be muscle with all the exercising you do. I know I put on 7lbs last year of pure sweet muscle! Of course after I broke my arm I lost it- but I'm guna get it back!!
I tend to focus on clothing size, I went down a whole pant size when I "gained" the weight and my legs felt like rock so I knew it wasn't fat. I bet your in a similar boat...

Weighed today. Yuck. I'm up officially 10 lbs from my lowest weight 18 months ago, but I really wasn't at that weight for long. Probably officially up 5. And I know why! While on vacay I had too much yummy junk to eat. This week I've been sick and couldn't work out either....but I am better now! Tomorrow I'll run my 4 miles, Sunday will be weights or yoga, and next week I'll get all my workouts in.
I am not freaking out, and I'm not on a "diet". I hate that four letter word, and I WILL NOT ever go on one again. I will, however, be cognizant of what I put into my mouth, my portions and how much I move. But, if I want a cookie, I'm having it...........just one though, not six!!
As I get further and further out, I really do understand the mantra "It's all up to me now". I probably have little if any malabsorbtion of calories at this point. I am glad that during the first two years I changed the way I ate and made exercise a regular part of my life, because if I hadn't, I could EASILY regain all the weight. I can eat more now. A lot more. I still get full quickly, but I can eat again in an hour or so. Therefore I have to be really careful not to graze. Maintenance is work, and it is for life.
Eats today:
B1-Jimmy Dean D-lights breakfast sandwich
B2-grilled chicken
L-chili (homemade-about 1 cup)
S-fruit naturals fruit cup
S-Chobani yogurt
D-not sure, have a function at church
I hope you all have a great weekend!

This will be fun and for a very good cause. I think a realistic goal in 6 weeks, if you are going to work agressively is 10 lbs. It is harder to lose 10 lbs at your current weight than when you were obese.
Up the water and the protein and move your body! You can do it!!
Have a great weekend!
