Good luck with the process. 6 months seems like a long time but it will fly by. THanks! I have not made it to the support meeting, just the seminar but the daytime one at Med Mall is on my calender for November. Can't wait!

I'm back! We had such a good time in the mountains. My calves are killing me from hiking!! We did 9 miles one day, then just a couple short 1 mile hikes the next.
We saw a bear on the walk up to Clingman's Dome...the biggest one I've ever seen. I am so glad I've got my health and can do so many active things now!!
Eats today:
B1-Jimmy Dean D-light breakfast bagel
B2-Kashi bar
L-a few bites of all kinds of stuff-we had a BBQ dinner today
S-a few bites of choc cake
D-meatloaf
No exercise tonight-I have bunco and I don't think my calves could handle it!!

The 6 months goes by very quickly and it is a good time to start some of the changes you need to make in your lifestyle as you prepare for surgery. I assume you already know which surgery you want?
Check the guidelines for that surgery and try to implement as many of the changes now as possible. I also recommend that you start exercising NOW. It will make your recovery so much easier and then you'll already be in a good habit once your surgery is complete!

Tammy I'm on Medicaid and I found 2 surgeons here in Alabama who accept it. They are both in Mobile and if you contact Medicaid you can see about getting a ride to the hospital. If you want their info please let me know. I know your issue all to well....I was suppose to have surgery over 10 years ago and now finally we have a few surgeons here that accept our insurance. Hope this helps!

Tammy there is doctors who still do take private pay. I do not know right off hand what the cost is for private pay. Medicaid is not the only one that discrimates, there is tons of patients out here who would love to have surgery but their insurance will not and does not cover weight loss surgery. I think that my surgeon does the take self pay and he is in Anniston.

ive managed to save up 9 grand but i need a car and i want the surgery,why are we who are on medicaid being discriminated against i think the doctors should take medicaid and private pay,i have yet to find a doctor in alabama who will take meidcaid and does anyone know how much gls or lapband cost,im so tired of trying all these diets and not loosing weight and im tired of having to take meds for lupus,diabetis and depresion i watch videos on youtube of how happy everyone is after there surgery,and i want that to be me,ive been looking 7 years and im about to give up please help me
