Congrats!  I love hearing success stories from people who are several years out.  Truly motivating that weight loss can be maintained!

Congratulations.  You have done great.  I am almost 8 years and like you I would do it all over again.  Keep up the good work.

Ten years ago yesterday in Tifton, Georgia my life changed.  I took a leap of faith and had Vertical Banded Gastroplasty.  I was told I would fail, I would never keep it off, I was making a mistake, I would lose then gain it all back with extra pounds.

Today I am a SUCCESS.  NO, I am not thin, skinny, or little.  I am me. I am happy and a more healthy weight.  I can truthfully say (have the plastic surgeon's written word) that I am big boned and larged framed.

I have maintained a loss of over 130 pounds. Yes at times I have experienced regain which is normal BUT I quickly got back with the program and lost it.

Recently I had shoulder surgery and had to go on prednisone.  We all know what that does to you so a few pounds have to come off!

I have been here a long time and have seen people come and go.  Some lose the weight and move on with their lives.  Some leave for other reasons.  Some regain and are ashamed to come back here for support.  I appeared to have left for a while but was never gone.  I was in "lurk" mode.  Working not far away from all of you.

Would I do it again?  You bet I would!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Saturday DH and I got up early with DD and ran 4 miles.  Then we went to a friend's house and I mowed her grass and DH did the shrubs and edging.  Her grass was soooo tall I had to bag it.  I hate using the bag!  Then we went home and did our yard.  I swear by the end of the day I must've sweated out 10 lbs.  I can't believe 3 years ago I could barely walk from the house to the mailbox without passing out, and now I have sooo much energy!  Yesterday DD and I and her aunt shopped the clearance racks--got lots of good bargains!

We got some much needed rain this weekend!  Yesterday the wind was so bad that it toppled my tomato/jalapeno pot over completely.  1/2 the tomatoes that were still green fell off.  I put them outside on the back porch....will they ripen?  I am so bummed about losing my crop

Eats today:

B1- 1/2 cup cottage cheese, NSA peaches and 1 slice ww toast
B2-grilled chicken breast
L-Healthy Choice turkey marsala
S-canataloupe
S-Chobani pineapple
D-spaghetti with meat sauce

Dessert-NSA ice cream bar

Exercise-P90X+ upper body

Topic: RE: has anyone found a medicaid doc ?

Hello Tammy

I know that Dr. Steven Isbell in Ft. Payne takes Medicaid He just did my bypass in April 2011. I dont know however if he does the lapband. His number is 256-845-4131 you should talk to Margo she could tell you if he does the lapband and if medicaid will pay for the lapband.

 Kim

I have been here for over 10 years.  I have seen people come and go.  Not many of us old timers left.  I have been blessed to have become a part of the OH family.  I don't post as often as I once did but you will be seeing more of me now.

Once thing is for certain I have always been here just over in the Photos Department.  So if anyone has before and after photos they need help with or avatar issues or just have a question in general just shoot an e-mail over to [email protected] and we will help.  We offer all kinds of help!
