Nothing in the clothing exchange is for sale.  It is all FREE.  Members bring their unwanted items to the exchange.  We tag them by size and they are free to any member that can use them.  Currently we do not have an online store.

Topic: Looking for Plastic Surgeon
Has anyone used Dr. Jennings in Muscle Shoals, Al. If so what did you think about both him & his staff, did your surgery turn out the way you wanted . Also did you have any problems etc. I would really appreciate any & all opinions. I'm ready to have plastic surgery, but I want someone who is very good at his/her work (as we all do) & a good bed side manner is always a plus but their work is more important to me  so I need help finding one. To me the best way to find one is to talk to people who have used the same surgeon. I live in Florence Al. I don't mind traveling a little way, but I have to think about how long the drive home will be because I have a feeling I will be in some pain. But I guess I can get a good dose of pain med. before I leave the hospital...LOL...

Topic: You're Invited to NOLA!
Each day, those of us in the ObesityHelp.com Member Services Department receive phone calls from OH members and visitors who are seeking help in finding a bariatric or plastic surgeon. Sometimes, it is really easy to help the person on the other side of the phone.  The person might have great insurance and knows exactly which surgery type they want, and everything falls into place.  However, many times it isn't that easy. As a matter of fact, sometimes it is a heartbreaking struggle. There are so many people that call us in tears and who are desperate for help. They tell us about their mobility issues, their life-threatening co-morbidities, and sometimes they share about the losses they have endured in their life.

While all of the above is hard...sometimes, it gets even harder.

They might tell us they are under-insured or not insured at all. One of the reasons ObesityHelp.com decided to have an
OH Event in New Orleans (NOLA) this year is because, since 2005, we have faced an increase in calls from that region.  All of the calls have had a common theme: Medicaid and difficulties finding a surgeon to accept them as patients. The devastation of the Gulf Coast from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita have had a direct impact on the lives of OH community members from this area.  Even though it has been years since these storms occurred, the lives affected and the rebuilding efforts continue on.

We invite you to come to NOLA to join us for the FUN , as well as to embrace this community.

Our mutual solidarity is needed.

I am so glad we're on the downhill slope to the weekend. Its my birthday weekend and im pretty excited for the celebration, and my hot heels LOL. Otherwise, theres no way i could make it thru today. I just want to go home and lay down. I've been having dull headaches all week. todays being worse. Not migraines but just lingering headaches that tylenol wont touch. We did some walk/jog intervals last night my friend that i walk with done this last year for 6 weeks and then ran in a 5k. im hoping it just helps me learn to start running as i realized im NOT a runner and feel like im about to die last night. we ran for 1min walked for 2 mins ran for 1 min, walked for 2. we are really starting this on Monday last night was just a trial run to show me and i thought i was about to die. luckily i wasnt alone. haha

anywho food for the day is:
B-protein shake
L-1/2 slice meatloaf, 1bites of mac and cheese, 1 fried green tomato, few bites of black eye peas.
D-i dunno. something small bc lunch was too much.

hope you have a great day!

I just got to work. Had to go have my iron checked. my level went up a half a point. Said it'd take a few days to get my iron and b12 back. They thought it'd be "normal" too. Hope so. I've dealt with iron infusions for quite a while now so im hoping im finally on a good combo of meds and my body is finally absorbing some of it. .5 point is better than dropping!!!

B-protein shake
L-bbq chicken salad
D1-leftover bbq chicken salad (before ball)
D2-protein shake? i dont really know what i'll eat after ball if anything.

I'll walk/jog 3 miles.
