Dr question
I don't know if this is even the right place to ask, but has anyone used Dr Dewitt and Princeton?
My husband and I are both going for the sleeve and finished our 6 month diet on the 15th. I called that day and spoke with the coordinator and she was going to send our stuff in. I called my insurance company last Wed to make sure that they got everything they needed and I found out she sent my husbands in, but not mine. She didn't bother to call and let us know that she didn't get my paperwork from our MD, and of course, they were closed all last week for the holdiay. My husband calls Tuesday morning and that's when we find out she didn't have my paperwork. Of course we get on the phone with our MD and he sends it over right then. The insurance company still does not have my paperwork. It's not even in their "waiting" faxes.
I understand that it's been the holidays an they're busy, I get that, I really do. But, my husbands was faxed on 12/15 to Dr D's office, and his approval letter was dating 12/19. She did his immediatly. Also, every time I call, I have to either leave a voicemail or the person that answers the phone takes a message. Then, I rarely get a call back. I am starting to feel like a number and not a patient.
I have heard nothing but wonderful about the doctor himself, and I really liked him, the one appointment I've had with him. But, his staff does not seem to care at all.
Is this the same treatment you've had? I really don't know what to do. Should we consider going to another surgeon??

I can see your frustration. I had my RNY in KY so I don't know anything about the AL Dr.s. Even though it has become a difficult process for you, don't give up! You won't regret the WLS. I agree with Kim, go by the office. A very good possibility is that the office may have been closed or very low staffed the past couple of months due to Holidays.....
Good luck to you!

My husbands was sent in on the 16th, his approval letter was dated the 19th, and we got the letter on Christmas Eve, so I am crossing my fingers and toes hoping we get my letter by this weekend. I keep telling myself to be patient and not to ru**** but I am just SO ready for this new life to start!!!!
I work with Dr. Dewitt a lot, and I think the world of him. VERY talented and caring guy. In fact, I had a relative consult with him this fall re. a gastric sleeve procedure.
