Setting/Changing Goal Weight

I had no clue when I started this process what my goal weight should be.  To be in a "normal" (and I really question these charts....) BMI, I need to weigh 150-which is just 2-5 lbs from where I've been since the end of May.  My surgeon didn't really set one either, and just said I'd probably end around 140-so that is what I set in my ticker.

I haven't lost anymore weight since May.  I've stayed within the same weight range 152-156 since then (I weigh myself on Fridays only).  My question is this:  Should I change my "goal" to where I am now?  I am happy at this weight-I am not willing to starve to try to reach some unrealistic number.  As of now, I can pretty much eat what I want (although I do make very good choices 90% of the time) and have some extras on special occasions--I'm sure this is only working because of the amount of exercise I do.

How long do you stay at a weight to determine that the body has declared "I'm done"?

You have done a wonderful job! Remember...you are a work out fool..lol...and muscle weighs more. If you are happy where you are, I would make that the "goal weight".

I am 5'1" and my surgeon said in the beginning she would be happy with 160. My lowest has been 139, but I do love wine so I stay fairly stable between 145-149.  I wear a size 8 now....I will take this over 282# and a 26/28/4x any day!!

Hi Kim,

I think you should change your goal weight.  I am very proud of you.  You are an inspiration to me, and I am so glad you post on this board.

I decided to change it to 150....we'll see--that puts me 2 lbs away, so as far as I'm concerned, I'm there!  Now, to STAY there...........maintenance is harder than the losing part was!!
