Old Post op here!
Perfect timing! I've been doing a lot of reading about the pros and cons of wls and just today I was thinking that I'd love to read about some people that had some very long term success. I'm sure there are MANY people out there with long term success but I *think* most of them probably have the surgery, lose the weight and gradually break away from the boards as they get farther and farther from their former obesity.
I've read a lot about Carnie Wilson in the news lately. Poor Carnie... I can't imagine that is very much fun to have the whole world critiquing you. But, she is one person. Although she admits her journey has led her back to obesity I don/t think for a second that automatically means that ALL wls patients are doomed to fail.
SO YES- I do have a couple of questions! Thanks for asking!
1. Have you had any children since your WLS? (only curious as I imagine that would make it A LOT harder to succeed long term)
2. What struggles do you have now with your lifestyle and eating habits? For instance, did it all just fall into place after a certain period of time or do you find yourself still really having to kick yourself in the pants?
3. Have you had any long term complications?
Thanks again!
p.s. I am in the "seeking insurance approval" portion of my journey.
