Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men. (Colossians 3:23)
Paul defined the Lord's work as "whatever you do." Because we are servants of God, everything we do is considered part of that service. God makes no distinction between what is spiritual and what is secular. All of us who know the Lord as our Savior, homemakers, bankers, lawyers, mechanics, assembly line workers, secretaries, fast-food workers, construction workers, etc. are involved in God's work. We are to do everything we do excellently. We are representatives of the Lord in everything we do.
Excellent words of inspiration today. In our everyday lives as we rush with the hustle and bustle of what we have to accomplish we can still do the service of our Father. I am reminded of a prayer in one of my devotional books. It is as follows;
Dear God, nothing is impossible for You--keep me aways mindful of Your strength. When I lose hope, give me faith; when others lose hope, let me remind them of Your glory and Your works. Today, Lord, let me expect the miraculous, and let me trust in You. Amen.
