well that's what it was closed shut almost. he opened me up and its now 4:30 and I am going to try my first sips of the day. no food today liquids only. tomorrow I will give the puree a try again. lets see how the liquids go down................Ah so far so good. tomorrow will be the big day... I have not had more than 3 oz of puree since last Friday!!! and still only down 4 lbs since then..LOL guess my Fat is really tough fat!!! LOL At least I know I was having a problem and not just a whiner...I usually don't whine about anything so that's good for me. Dr said before I went out its too soon for a stricture but I will take a look and see what if anything is going on in there. well to his surprise it was. He told my mom that most likely I will have to do this again. If I am already starting with this it may take a few more times before all is said and done. Yippee... next time maybe he wont make me wait 5 days to do something about it... He thought I was a whiner...LOL No harm done lets just move on and get past the next few weeks. Turkey day is a commin and I want to have my 4 oz dinner. one bit of all my fav's within reason...No sugar of course and not fat...only veg's and turkey.. I want to thank you all so very much for your prayers I appreciate them very very much. being a woman who loves to pray its very important for me to know someone is praying for me and the more the merrier... Love y'all and your support is great.

I wish Connie (Teal Rose) could be on here tonight.  She had strictures also.  She had to be stretched several times.   Maybe she will be on a little later and can give you some advice.  I was thinking it was a stricture by what you were saying.  I have never had one but know about them through
Connie.
Glad you are better!!!  It is good to be a slow loser.  The weight comes off and it is easier to keep off.  You are doing great and we are proud of you!!!

So glad you listened to your body and the doc listened to you.  Go in again when this starts, hoping for very few complications for you Mendy.

Hi Mendy,

Glad to hear your doctor finally listened to you.  As Debbie (Little Lady Bug) said, I had to have my stricture stretched
four (4) times.  I got mine very early too, but "lived" with it for 2 1/2 - 3 months before going to the doctor. I didn't trust my instincts. Please always trusts yours. It's your body and you know how you feel!  ALWAYS, ALWAYS insist that the doctor listen to you.
The reason it took 4 times to finally getting my stricture opened was because I ignored my instincts and waited too long. They could only open it a little at a time because it had been closed almost totally for so long.  You will do great!!

When I wasn't able to eat much for those 3 months, I didn't lose that much weight...I lost, but not as much as others seemed to be losing.  When we can't eat our body's go into protection mode and  hold on to the fat to protect us from starvation.  After the strictures were finally taken care of I went on to lose the rest of my weight.

Wishing you the best.  It sounds like you have the right attitude and that is what it takes to use your new tool to your advantage.  Hang in there!!!!

Christ's peace,

I too had a stricture a few weeks after GBS. It was fixed and now 5 years later I have another one. This time it's bad. An ulcer formed between the esophagus and pouch. From throwing up and not eating I have lost 32 pounds. The acid has really taken a toll on my teeth. I look like death. I feel like death. I fainted in Wal-Mart because of low BP and dehydration. I hit the corner of the counter and busted open my eye. And fell on my  boney  butt on the concrete floor. Dr. Ou'Tim went in a streched it some and he has to go back in. I am doing better. No problem with liquids so far. I still throw up but not like before he went in. This has really taken a toll on my health which wasn't the best to begin with. I hope all goes good with you.
